more than paper and glue

This is probably one of my favorite pages of all time... and not because I used Dear Lizzy products (although that was pretty cool) but because of the meaning behind the page. Creativity isn't just about the end result to me. It's about the process. I create for so many different reasons and this page specifically was for meaning.
As I glued down each butterfly wing the sweetest thoughts and moments fluttered through my mind.
Thoughts about how blessed I am to be a mommy, of our family, of how fast time goes by, what I've learned about myself and how I want to grow, what I want to teach through example. So now when I look at this page there is so much more to it than paper and glue.

Don't ever change who you are to fit in. Remember your divine worth. Find you. Be you. I love you.

Supplies:
Dear Lizzy
: music note paper, tiny heart paper, glitter typewriter thickers (coming soon), favorite pen

  5. This page is one of the main reason's I scrap. To send a message to my kids if something were to happen to me, to let them know who they were growing up and what life can hold for them, and to let them know how much I love them forever!
Thank you for this post! Amazing!
    Pure Inspiration!!! Thank you!

  8. I love it when you share your personal thoughts like this with us. You must have sat down after church yesterday to make this page...I always get spiritually sentimental on Sundays. I love Sundays. :)

  9. Seriously! A) This is adorable B) What time do you wake up woman? It's an early post or maybe it's a really late one. C) I can't wait for your Dear Lizzy line to come out. The people at Archivers are probably sick of me asking about all things Elizabeth Kartchner, book, scrapbook line, etc. You are such an inspiration. Thanks for sharing.

P.S. What happened to your Deary Lizzy column in CK? I miss it so much. It was always the first column I read as soon as the mail came.

  10. I love this page! I have a question that you have probably already answered somewhere, but do you put these types of pages in a page protector? I have seen all of these neat embellies like these and I think it would kill me to mash them into a page protector. Just wondering. LOVE the page!

  11. Sweet page. Creating is something that I do to remember the special moments I experience as a mommy, wife and in my growth as a women of God. Whether it be baking cupcakes for those I love or scrapbooking projects crafts always put me in a thoughtful mood.

  21. I'm wondering about the fate of the butterflies also and any other bulky embellishment when the page is loaded into a page protector or an album. I'd hate to spend all that time making such a beautiful page and then have it all smashed. What is your secret?

  22. The butterflies are breathtaking, as well as the message. Your children will be so grateful for these beautiful little pieces of art you have created for them :)

  39. I made a LO for my big girl Alanis
-she's 12- with lots of butterflies
flying around the page but I was stuck with the journaling. I feel she is flying away from me so much faster than I want her to... You just show me that sometimes a simple message is just enough to show my true feelings. Thank u for giving me the inspiration.

  50. This weekend I decided to scraplift this outstanding butterfly layout. It is so perfect that I even added the oh-so-true journaling. My daughter is 7 but soon enough she'll be a teen and that's when I'll haul out this LO and remind her to just "BE YOU"! Thank you Liz for your work - it's always such an inspiration. I had fun fun FUN with all the butterflies!! My next project will be the "Flutter" LO - love that too... Love, Gina (from Italy)
