a little of this & that

Getting in the spirit of Halloween around our home. Which means I need to finish my spooky tree using my Girls' Paperie... I told you I adore these crepe flowers!
We have 2 of our 4.5 costumes ready. Collin & I are trying to figure out what we can dress up as this year. Collin suggested we paint a pumpkin on my tummy... now that's pretty much the scariest costume I've ever heard of. ;) So, really, any ideas for a preggo momma? I was going to take a year off but what's the fun in that?

I'm not the only one carrying around a pumpkin... this girl carries hers around all day since Saturday when she found the perfect one. She pretty much loves it. Perhaps because it's just her size.

Despite the fact that the kids have been sick all weekend they've still been surprisingly chipper. Which is sooooooooo nice. Much better than sick + grumpy.
We've kept it low key around here and just hung out cozied up indoors. A little football, a little baking, a little crafting & a lot of snuggle time laziness.
Hope you had a nice weekend & are enjoying getting ready for Halloweeeeeen.

Check out Crafty Steals because today my Dear Lizzy Christmas Card set and Christmas Paper are the steal of the day!!

  2. When I was pregnant, I went as a Nun and my hubby wore a Monk outfit. Got LOTS of stares at the gas station that night!

  4. You should be an oven and have a bun inside the oven! I found the idea here...

but with your crafty talents you could easily make your own :)

  5. cute project!
I always wanted to be a pregnant girl scout and my husband to be the boy scout. Is that bad? lol!

  6. This year, as a preggo mama-to-be, I'm going as a chef with a bun in the oven ... chef hat + apron with a picture of baking bread tacked on the front. Easy peasy!

  7. Funny .....your hubby loves as many photos of himself on the blog as you do.

  9. Love Avery's cute apron! I smiled when I saw your post title because I just wrote a post last week titled a little of this and that. :) And every year my girls pick out a mini pumpkin and they play with it all October. They even take them to bed with them! Like one of the dolls. Our lives with little princesses are pretty similar. :)

  10. I think it's so cute that you and Collin dress up for Halloween! Hope you have a great Halloween...by the way, have you seen the December issue of Scrapbooks etc.? There's a great article in there by Ali Edwards about making a December Daily album, make a page every day from Dec. 1 to the 25th. So cool, I am going to try it.

  14. You could go as hillbillies...you, of course, being the barefoot and pregnant one. There's a website where you can order "billybob" teeth that really make the costume!

  15. I'm 6 months along and I'm going at a '50's housewife and my husband will be the milkman. Found the idea online...thought it would be so cute!

  16. I always liked the skeleton outfit, with the little baby skeleton hangin' out...:) But the housewife and milkman, that's great!

  18. Get a black or grey tee and craft yourself an oven with a bun in it! (I see someone else mentioned a tee you can buy too...)

And Collin can be the chef! :-D

p.s. I know you post a lot of photos of A and Q, but every time I see them, I just can't believe how beautiful they are!

  20. Lizzy,
I just love all your garland you make. Could you post more pictures of the Halloween garland and how you made it? And do you have ideas for garland for Christmas yet?
    You're Awesome!

  21. I've seen the pregnant nun thing before...very funny! Last year a couple came into the party we were at as a pregnant nun, a priest, and their dog was a banana...don't know why but it was funny! You could also do the pregnant bride thing! or pregnant trailer trash...??? good luck and have fun!

  22. My husband and I went as Juno and Bleeker last year. I had to stuff my shirt with a pillow. You have that part all taken care of. ; )

  23. You should totally let Collin paint a pumpkin on your belly. My first son was born in November, so on Halloween my husband painted a jack-o-lantern on my belly- I dressed in a black shirt and skirt, and have a great picture of my pumpkin belly sticking out. When son #2 was almost here in December, my husband painted a Christmas ball ornament on my belly- same black top & skirt, and another great picture. Baby #3 will be here the first of April, so come March the husband will be at it again, this time painting an Easter egg on my belly- and I'll do the same picture. Totally looking forward to framing the three pictures together...marking the holiday arrival of all my kiddos.

  24. You could dress 80's and be a pregnant prom queen and your husband can be the creepy gym teacher baby daddy. Shorty-shorts and headband, you know?
I'm thinking of just wearing a floaty that looks like a tire and telling everyone I'm "tired". That's easy.
    Can't wait to see pics.

  25. When I was in that situation I wore all black but made a really cute felt Jack-o-lantern out of felt and cloth and attached it to the belly of my shirt. Cute and easy!

  26. I love that Halloween banner! Thanks for letting us know about Crafty Steals- I was able to purchase that Christmas Card set I've been looking for :)

  27. love the Juno idea.....and the nun one....lol

But I am also a sucker for the pumpkin on the belly.

you could be the big marshmellow man from Ghost busters......

Or dress up like an old man, with a moustache...and let the belly be an old man belly. lol

  28. We went to a Halloween party and the hosts just found out that they were pregnant. They were a "mummy" and a "deady"!!! They were so cute. Bandages all over the mommy=mummy and the deady=daddy was a living dead person! hysterical! Have fun!

  29. My friend last year was pregnant for Halloween and she was a bun in the oven. She made the front of an oven out of cardboard and where the viewing window is in front, she left that cut out for her belly. She just wore like a tan shirt under the oven. And THEN her husband dressed up as the chef. It was so cute and he was quite proud of his costume as most men would be. :)

  30. I tried to talk my husband into being a priest, and me the pregnant nun. He wouldn't go for it. Love your post about un-packing the pink.. brings back so many memories of my own! It was sweet.

  31. the nun-priest idea, awesome!
You can always be a school girl and Collin can be the scool boy.. kinda like the scouts, just differing twist.

  32. I've had pregnant friends go as:
    *Juno + Pauly Bleeker
*Britney Spears (wearing a "I've got the golden ticket" tank) + Kevin Federline ... although that might be dated now :)

Have fun ... can't wait to see pics!

  33. I've always been a fan of the pregnant Nun idea.

  34. I'm 36 weeks and I'm going as a pumpkin smuggler. I have an orange shirt and I'm painting black jackolantern eyes, nose, and mouth where my baby bump is. And writing pumpkin smuggler on the shirt too.
