insert cheesy Valentine saying {here}

It's 36 hours until Valentine's Day and all the love is starting to melt the snow outside (finally!) Love is definitely in the air...and Scrapbook Away is really feeling the love. They want you to be their Valentine and instead of a "Be Mine" card with some sugar hearts, they want to give you this awesome bunch of goodies from KI Memories and the 'Pop Culture' line!
Here's what you need to do: Get in some jammies, watch your fave chick flick twice and get into a love-sappy mood. (Okay, you don't have to do that part, but to get the full effect, it's highly recommended). Then simply tell us about someone in your life you would like to show your love and appreciation for and what cute thing you plan on doing to accomplish that. I'll give everyone a few days and announce the winner-winner-chicken-dinner at the end of the week!
Thanks to www.scrapbookaway.com for the goodies!

On the 15th so as not to take the shine away from our son's birthday I am taking said wonderful amazing husband to the beach for dinner - Summer in NZ. This post was perfect for me as I am the soppiest person ever!

I have to say first that I adore my husband and my three children but this Valentine's Day I want my mom to know how much she means to me. Without her influence and all the sacrifices she made for my brother and I while growing up I probably wouldn't have been sealed to the most amazing guy and have such a great life. She showed me how to have a relationship with our Heavenly Father and make good choices even without a Earthly father around. So she's gettin an amazing gift certificate to a spa where she can be pampered and feel good. Happy V-day all.

I love my fiance more han life itself. We recently celebrated 5 years of dating and over Christmas he proposed to me. We are taking a little trip on Friday to celebrate valentine's day so we promised no gifts. But, i saw this huge card (human sized) at the convenience store with a cute poem on it just the other day so I'm going to pick it up and surprise him with it! He'll think I'm a corn ball but he will appreciate it!

I married my high school sweetie 5 years ago and he works real hard to make sure we have everything we need. So to show him how thankful I am this year he is getting beakfast in bed (homemade cinnamon rolls and oj)with the cards the kids made and a day to relax. Then I am taking him to the spa for a hot rock message and dinner.... With 2 babies and one on the way he has been doing a lot to help so this is my way for saying thanks for being the BEST!!!!!

well, this year my mom needs some love. after a lifetime of living in southern california she is making the move 400+ miles north to be closer to me and my kiddos. she is so excited to be an 'everyday' grandma instead of a 'special events' grandma...but...she is leaving friends, all she has ever known, a house she adores and so much more. i know it's a big sacrifice for her and as i watch her say goodbye to everything, i'm sad for her. she needs reminders that she is doing this for all the right reasons and that her memories of 'home' will be forever documented in the albums both she and i have done over the years. she needs the love!

Edward is my Valentine. While I tell him "I Love You" several times during the day, I don't tell him why I love him often enough. This Valentine's Day, I have a neat photo that I bought from Etsy that I plan to attach a "love letter" to the back telling Edward why I love him.

Well I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 6 years now. We have an amazing little boy that fills our hearts with joy..and a bit of mischief everyday. I have to say that although my husband works his tail off so that I can stay at home with our son and is such an amazing friend and father..the person that I want to express my love for the most this year is my mother in law. Yes...I know that's such an unlikely person...but she's been such a blessing to our family in more ways than one. She dearly loves my son and our family and since my father in law passed away..my husband and I have "taken over" the valentine's day part of their relationship. We are doing flowers as usual..but I also want to make the Valentine's I love you card book that Ali Edwards posted on her blog for her...it's really neat and that way I can personalize it.
I hope that you and your hubby are reunited soon..I bet you miss him terribly. Your little girl is so sweet. :) Thanks for sharing so much inspiration on your blog! :)

Well, my sweet hubby gets the "treats" on Thursday!

I have 2 boys, 12 & 8. I am trying to take advantage of opportunities to teach them to be romantic.

So, Thursday after they get home from school, we will transform the upstairs into a "Chinese TakeOut" room.

I plan to pick up sushi, order in some Chinese, make cute little "personalized valentine" fortune cookies, and the boys will help with all of this. They will help "decorate" the chopsticks, pour the sauce, prepare the table, light the candles, etc.

Then, we will surprise hubby/dad when he comes home!

A great Valentine Dinner for all!

Well I'm only 14 so I don't really have a boy in my life right now, but our church's youth group has "Big Sisters" and "little Sisters" and my big sister is the most amazing person I've ever met. She is just beautiful and has this light in her eyes that could make absolutely anthing ok. I want to be a chef so I'm going to try and make a time with her to make her a special dinner as a valentines thank you.

Your blog is very inspiring, you are so creative!

I just found out that one of my close friends from college is finally pregnant after (almost) 15 years of marriage. She and her husband are so excited to be expecting their first child. To show her how happy I am for her and how much she is loved, a care package is coming her way (which includes some baby items but also some pampering things just for her like a coupon for a pedicure).

I really want to say I love your blog, so creative and SO cute. The man and I will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary this week..uhemm I was born married:+) I adore my sweetie but will have to say I would like to dedicate this v-day to my daughter Jaden (11). We are the only two in the house that don't have the flu this week. She has helped me take care of the boys non stop. In between getting the clear liquids and making soup, we scrap and giggle the day away. Doesn't look like the hubby and I will celebrate this week, maybe next, it will be worth the wait. I so love my fam!
Happy Love Day everyone!!!

After 22 years of marriage you can tend to get in a rut and maybe not let your man know how much you totally are still head over heels for him. I am making my man a CD with some of his fave songs and songs that mean something to us as a couple. He used to sing to me all the time when we were dating and even made me a recording at Six Flags! Sure hope he likes it!

Man, I am getting such a kick out of the music on your site. I've kept the window open just so I can listen to it. ;o)

Well, hubby and I celebrate valentines day a little oddly. You see, we're both trying to learn Japanese together, it's just a fun thing we're doing. So all year we've been doing little things to keep each other motivated to keep practicing.

And in Japan, the woman gets any men in her life a gift of chocolate on Valentine's Day. Not just her sweetie either, but also her co-workers, friends, even her boss. So for this V-day I'll be the one giving the chocolate. (he likes extra dark the best.) I'll also get him some of his favorite treats, a few beers that he's really in to, and I'll cook him a big old rib-eye with garlic mashed potatoes for dinner. Then, one month from now (on March 14) we'll be celebrating the Japanese "White Day" (it was named that because when the holiday was first introduced, it was popular to give gourmet marshmallows as gifts) this is the day that the men traditionally give the lady a gift. I'm hoping he'll skip the flowers and go for the cute... I'm really hoping for a hamster! ^_^

So that's what we're doing this year. I guess it's a little strange, but we like mixing it up every once in a while. ;o)

When I met my husband (of course, before he was my husband) I prayed. My prayer went something like this... "Lord, PLEASE don't ever make me marry HIM!" And now 10 years later we've been married for 7 and I'm so glad God answered that prayer differently than I hoped at the time it was uttered! He is the most amazing man and perfect match for me. I love him with all my heart and want him to know that this Valentine's Day, as all the others in the year. To celebrate I am taking him on a date to his favorite restaurant and we are going WITHOUT the kiddo! It's rare that we go out just by ourselves, so I know he will enjoy it. I also have a few extra treats (little cards, candy surprises, other surprises ;)...) planned for the few days surrounding V-day, since I think it should last more than just 24 hours!

Well, the person I most appreciate is my sweet husband who shows me every day that he loves me. He is my best friend and the love of my life and I can't wait to spend time with him for Valentine's Day. Because of schedules being so crazy, we're celebrating on Wed. and for us, it's all about the quality time this year. I don't really have a cute thing I'm doing this year but I plan to make sure my husband knows that he is such a blessing to me. I'm so thankful for him.

Hi! What a cute blog you have! I just recently found it and just love it! This year - besides the normal mooshy husband stuff, my kids have been feeling a little left out. My husband has been extrememly busy working full time, working a little part time, and studying to take the Bar Exam for another state. My oldest son, Michael who is first grade is taking daddy's busy time the hardest. He and dad are buds, so on Valentine's Day I'm planning a special singing valentine to suprise him at his school with a song and HUGE cookie valentine during his Party (which I'm also in charge of) and then the 3 kids an I are planning a special picnic (they like to use my picnic basket) and tea party (they like the tea set) for dad when he gets home for dinner. We will then have a valentine exchange - and one requirement is that the valentine has to include one nice special thing you like about the person who it's for. My kids love digging through my "kids only" sticker stash and cutting with my deco scissors!

I love my husband dearly and I am scared that my Valentine's gift might be a baby! We are late here and not planning on having a baby yet, but hey... ya never know what God has up his sleeve!

Okay, that wasn't near sappy enough... guess I have to go watch Lakehouse again! :)

And a shout out to my little bro - Happy Valentine's Birthday! ;) Get busy proposing, darn it! ;)

As much as i'd like it to be, my Valentine's wish is not possible for my DH, but I so wish I could take away the financial difficulties that we and his business are in right now. Winter is just a bad time for his line of work. I can see it weighing on him more everyday. He tries not to let his worries show, as so I don't stress to much, this is what I love about him, he would rather take the brut of it all then to have me worry.
So I will just try my hardest to help the day run smoothly, make his favorite dinner and just have a nice night at home alone with our 2 yo son.

I am always a romantic sap - chick flix or not. This time, I skipped that part, just because they usually get me all mushy and teary and for some reason, my typing seems to go downhill every time I'm weeping happily over another blissful ending. ;)
Anyhow: Valentines Day is the anniversary of the day I proposed to my husband... (Yes - we were engaged, but with no set date. Henever got around to it - so I made a tag pocket book with four tags - holding photos of us. The first one said "my first", the second "ly last", the third "my everything" and the fourth said "Will you marry me?" He said yes, as you might have guessed... *smiles*)
Therefore, I am planning a 3 course dinner. I really don't know how to translate the dishes, but they do sound yummy in Swedish! *grins*
There'll be candle lights and roses, and a heart shaped box with a teddy bear carrying a heart on top of a pair of boxers with the text "darling" and a pair of matching socks.
I've also altered a bar of his favourite chocolate. That's going on a tray with breakfast in bed... There's gonna be a matching card that says I love you - and I've bought coffee mugs with hearts.
Yep, I'm a romantic fool, and I know this is all soooo cheesy, but I love the excuse to BE cheesy once a year...! :D

I of course love my husband, son and daughter and am planning a special breakfast and treats for everyone for Valentine's Day. However, my "special treat" this year is for my ten year old son. This year - for the first time - he has a "girlfriend". Let me tell you - it is like a knife through my heart since for the past ten years he has alway been my Valentine. I am taking him out tonight to pick out something special for him to give his new Valentine (I think a Webkin) and I am arranging with the girl's mother a way to get the gift to her so my son does not have to bring it to school and be embarrassed with all of the other boys teasing him. This is my special gift to my son - to make his first "real Valentine's Day" special.

I had this HUGE week planned for Valentine's this year. Tuesday all 4 of my guys came home to thier very own heart shaped cake with I love you on it. Today, it's red punch and thier favorite supper (chicken tenders and shrimp). Tomarrow, cards, bubble bath (only for me and hubby), and a movie we've all been wanting to see - not in that order :). We've as a family also decided to love someone else. He found out a week ago that he's losing his daughter to cancer. We want to bring love to him so we're making cards for him. So that's my mushy plans!!

I'm so excited for valentines day, because it is a tradition in my family to prepare a steak family dinner and eat off of the never-used wedding china! But, I'm going to make the extra effort to show my love and appreciation for my hard-working husband, by making him mini-gift certificate album! I saw the idea in CK around Christmas time and am so excited to make it! Each page will have a picture from each of the 11 years we have been married and a gift certificate pocket on the opposite page. That way we have no excuse not to go on a date every month for the rest of the year! Thanks for the chance to share!

First - I must confess. I look at your blog all the time becase i LOVE it....so cute, great music, and such fun ideas all the time. however, i normally don't comment. My name is stephanie rosen (now stephanie brown) and i went to hs with you back in the day. Anyways, I especially liked the idea for a LOVE book that you put up. I am working on one of those for my hubby -- however, instead of doing it from me, I am creating it from our new little baby that is due in August. I found out what it is yesterday, and haven't told Chip, so that is part of the big surprise for him tomorrow. I am also writing a letter from the little baby about things that it will like and feelings it will have about it's cute daddy. Add to that a cute t-shirt that will say "daddy's little princess" or "daddy's little athlete" (pending what it is - can't give it away yet) and something for it to wear, I am going to wake up early and make PINK HEART Belgium Waffles with whipped cream and strawberries and surprise him for breakfast since he works til all hours of the night and that is the only time i will see him.....then i am sending out valentines to the families with an ultrasound and the surprise of what sex it will be!!! Should be fun, and hopefully i can get off work early today so i can get to all the fixings........thanks again for the inspiring little comments you put up.....love the simple thiings like the cupcakes, the toilet training....so fun to read (hopefully you don't mind so much that i have become a blog stalker to you). HAPPY VALENTINES!!!!

It's hard to pick between my husband and my children -- especially since we don't have a babysitter for Thursday night. So instead of one, I have three Valentines. And I will celebrate by making fresh, heart-shaped ravioli's for dinner! They were a big hit last year and I'm sure my family will love making this a new holiday tradition.

I am married to the most amazing and wonderful man and have the greatest 3 year old daughter. I am going to help my daughter make a very special valentine's card for her daddy so he can be sure he is appreciated. Then I plan to make him his very favorite dessert "eclair cake" as a special thank you to him for being so wondeful to us. We also plan to go to my parents for a Valentine "pizza" dinner so we can exchange valentine's and let everyone in our family know how much we love them (especially exciting for my daughter who loves her Nana and Papa)!

I most appreciate the main man in my life, as well as the little man. :-) I will be spending Valentine's Day at a specialist's office with my husband. His health has always been amazing and all of a sudden, he's had the most excruciating pains in his life. It kills him that he's going through this. I want to show him how much Lex and I appreciate him by waking up to the "I love You" book on the bedstand and breakfast in bed for him, for a change. Lex and I have been working on little valentines to put all over the house, too. We'll head out to the dr and then have a nice dinner, just the three of us afterwards. He's always gone above and beyond for us, and it's our turn to go above and beyond for him.

My husband is a big part in my life and I always try to do little things for him. But my 8 years has be very sick she had a reaction to her medicine and then the drug store read the prescription wrong and gave her 16 days instead of 7 days of prednisolone, her face blew up her head and body hurt. My child just needs a break. She is only 8 and has gone through so much for her age. I love my husband and both of my girls but this Valentine I will attend her party as school and spend some fun playtime with just her and me.

We attach the cards to homemade bags of trail mix and pass them out. This will be our third year spreading the Valentine cheer to these men and women. It is always a hit!

My husband lost his father a couple of years ago on Valentines Day and ever since then this day has been hard. My husband had always enjoyed spoiling me and our daughters but he lost the most important man in his life on this day and this day is still very sad for him. This year I purchased the KOTM and decided that I wanted him to know that I love him soooo very much and that over the last 16years of marriage he has and is the most important person in my life. We have been through many peaks and valleys over the last few years and I just want him to know how much I appreciate and love him. If is were not for him I would not my beautiful five children and the wonderful life that we live.

Thanks for letting me express my feelings.

Happy Valentine's Day,

My husband is who I appreciate the most in my life. He is not a guy who really enjoys present, but on a whim I asked him what he wanted for valentines day. He shocked me when he replied "One of your egg nog cheesecakes." I was a little worried because NO one carries egg nog this time of year!! Needless to say I made egg nog last night (turned out pretty good --- surprisingly) and tonight I'm going to make him the best egg nog cheesecake he's ever had!! :)

It goes without saying that my hubby and kids will be on the recieving end of my love- but I've got lots of love to share and this year in particular, my mom needs some extra love- she's an amazing woman, raising me alone (at 17) I never, ever felt the effects of being raised by a single mom of little means- she made every day special, and has always been my biggest supporter. She has had alot of stress and saddness in recent weeks, and my step father has to be away this Valentine's day, so my plan (if the snow stops falling, and the roads aren't scary) is to be my mom's valentine date this year and treat her to dinner and a movie (pleeeease stop snowing!!!) If the weather doesn't co-operate...I was thinking maybe we can both make a batch of our favorite treats (puffed wheat squares) and watch the same movie in our respective homes at the same time while chatting on the phone. (pleeeease stop snowing!!!!)

I really enjoy your blog. Your designs are fun and fresh! Congrats on baby girl #2!!

Wow, this will be hard to write for me... last thursday my precious 2 yr old Emma was running around and fell pretty hard, a few mintues later she passed out, and they believe she had a mild seizure when she came too. It was the scariest moment of my life to have her go limp and pale in my arms. She has a hole in the top two chambers of her heart that did not close when she was born and they are concerned this may be why she passed out. Up until thursday this has not effected her in anyway other than we have it checked once a year. Right now she is doing fine, we are home and everything is normal. But she is ordered to have an EEG and EKG this week and the only available day is thursday, Valentines day. So my wonderfully supportive husband will be spending Valentines day with Emma and I as we help her try to understand why she has to lay still for so long so they can do these tests. Though we are usually not big sappy love bugs at Valentines day, this is definately not how we intended to spend the day. As for the evening, we will be curling up to watch a good movie as a family, everyone wrapped up in eachother's arms and thankful for the blessings in life that we do have (and I'm fairly certain there will be some chocolate brownie ice cream in there somewhere!!!). Thanks for giving me a chance to share - it felt good to get some of the feelings out in writing. I have not written about it on my own blog and am not sure that I will until after thursday when we know a bit more. Thanks for giving me a place to 'put it out there'. Happy Valentine's day Elizabeth! I really enjoy reading your blog and finding inspiration in your crafts.

My love is so good to me. Last night I got home from CHA and immediately fell asleep, mid-afternoon. He had stuff to do and places to go and kept coming home to me asleep. he didn't wake me up. I woke up finally at 7pm and asked why he didn't wake me up to go get things done that we needed to. he said that he loved me and knew I was tired and was just looking for ways to serve me. i just about died. So this is what I want to do for him this valentines week: I want to serve him. Just find all the small things that make him happy. Pack his lunch, leave him notes, pick him up from school, listen to him go on and on about some crazy idea he got, and he does this alot!, and then I just want to tell him more often how much I love him. Make sure he feels what I feel. It was so good to see you at CHA! happy valentines day week!

Valentine's Day is so hard...especially on a budget. But I made that cute love book from Ali Edwards a few weeks back. So my love is getting that filled with sweet nothings and pictures. I hate that I can't do much more, but it is the thought that counts!

Pick me, Pick me! (I don't have money to buy scrapbook supplies right now!)

Ah, my better half, my husband -- he's everything a man should be and more. I am blessed beyond words.

We (me, my son Logan and our two dogs) are all making him a card with several pages of our hand (and paw) prints and will list all the reasons why he is our everything :)

Happy V-Day to you!

As I sit here and type these words thru tears I am already celebrating the greatest Valentines Day gift a girl of 26 could ever enjoy. I left my family and the U.S. in Sept. to move to South Korea to be with my husband. We talked about this prior to me coming to this country and I decided that I would rather spend everyday next to my husband for a year/year and a half (maybe more) than him re-enlist and be in the U.S. for six months and then be shipped to Iraq for over a year. He was nearly killed with an IED (improvised explosive device) in February of 2006 while he served in Iraq(he is in the Army). When he came back to the states for R&R, two months later, in April of that same year we got married. He said that he could not and would not spend another day without us being married. Last Feb.14th he surprised me with flowers, a candlelight dinner and quirky gifts (He bought me the magic bullet!- it's a blender... I know, I'm weird. not only for me, but bought my sister a set as well!)-He knew that we had both been gushing about it for six months prior!!! He is so loving and thoughtful, caring, and he is soo expressive of his love for me. I come first in his life. I am his queen. He loves me like no other man has loved me before. -And I truly cherish and adore him. For all that he is, and all he inspires me to be. I could not ask for anything this year, to have him here and be safe and ALIVE is just such a gift, he is my best friend...How can a girl ask for more??? So, my gift to him when he comes back from the field (he is gone and won't be here for V-day), of course is to cook for him, give him foot rubs and back massages after a long hard days work. And showing him that I love him and appreciate him, with the "everday perks" that a couple tends to forget once the everyday routine sets in. I love this man. He is my everything. Right now- Literally- He is all that I have. And Thank God, I am truly blessed. I would not trade him for anything in the world.

Hi,

I don't have a boyfriend/fiance/husbad to spend this valentines day with, however my best friend is my valentine this year.

She was diagnosed last year in September with breast cancer and after going through chemo until Christmas 2007 she has now just found out she will have to have a full mastectomy and her overaries removed - all at the age of 34!

We have become even better friends through this and i hope that i have been a help to her. I actually introduced her to scrapbooking and after her initial diagnosis i made up a huge box with an album, cutter, paper, embellishments etc as a little gift to take her mind off things.

Anyway this year she is my valentine, i am going to make sure that she knows how much she means to me and how important she is to everyone, if i am lucky enough to win this prize i will share it with her as well.

Thanks you, your blog is awesome and i read is every week.

Love Tori

My husband proposes to me everyday! We have been married just over 5 years and not a single day has gone by where he hasn't asked me at least once to marry him. I love that he does this! And so I would love to make some crazy sign/art work for our home that says YES! And even though he'll keep on asking me everyday, if for some reason I can't be reached at the moment he wants to ask me, my answer will always be there.

This is going to sound a little strange, but I want to show my love and appreciation to my Grandmother who recently passed away. I have been asked to say her eulogy and I consider this my final gift to her!

Thanks for the chance to win!

The person in my life that fits this description would have to be my father. Though I'm only an almost-20-something, my father and I have never been all that close. He worked as a truck driver my entire life thus far and because of his job, he never really got any time to spend with me OR my brother. Naturally, growing up, I was always closer to my mom--going to her with my questions, calling to talk to her, getting her advice, etc. And it wasn't until recently that I noticed what an effect this had on my dad. All these years, and your own children don't even want to be that close to you. I guess we were just scared to miss him too much while he was away. But now, since I'm getting older and don't want to waste anymore time, I want to show my father just how much he means to me. He's not a big fan of V-day, but I've decided to do something to show that I care anyway. Since I go to school an hour and a half away, I've gotten my mom in on the plan: first, I'm going to call him, something I rarely ever do "just because". Then he's got a handmade card coming in the mail. THEN (and this the part where my mom helps out) I'm ordering a pizza from his favorite restaurant, with the pepperoni in the shape of a heart. To top it off, I'm coming home this weekend, just to give him a HUGE hug before he has to leave on another trip. I don't know what he'll think of all of this, but I hope it makes him realize that he's my dad, and I love him, even if I don't get to spend as much time with him as I'd like.

First off let me say that the word "love" is a BIG DEAL TO ME!
As a child, this word wasn't said to often in our home. From this I became very afaird to use it and even more... to opening my heart to someone.

When I was 19 I met a man that would not give up on me no matter how hard I faught those feelings. He often huged me, kissed me and used those words I feard so much! I felt gilty to have his love. Then finally because of him, I became okay in my own skin. He, the Man I fell "HEAD OVER HILLS in LOVE WITH" helped heal my heart and married me... making me feel safe with him.

We have now been married for 7 year (and still counting)and I use the word "LOVE" like crazy. I now feel that love is the greatest gift we can give, I use it all the time with my two beautiful boys and my loving hubby. He (my hubby)cured me of my once Broken heart. He open my eyes to showed me what life can really be.

Because of him I understand that love is a deep thing we should enbrace and then share with others, No matter our age or our looks.

Love can heal all things, love can and will make you safe and that is what his love did for me! Love IS A POWERFUL THING!

PS Pick me :)

We just moved into our new home 5 weeks after moving out of our old home. June, my dear friend, put up my entire family- hubby, pre-teen daughter and two toddlers, at her home for four weeks. My hubby is the love of my life. He is also the chef in our house. I rarely cook so I'm going to cook a full three course meal from scratch for him which is saying a lot for me as I'm a bit challenged in the kitchen. *lol* It takes me three times as long to cook something because I have to read the directions three times before I actually add the ingredient or do the procedure needed. Hope everyone else has a happy valentine's day!

Oh gosh..there are two people right now who are just helping me out so much with Madi. Working full time, you have to depend on childcare for your children and I have been sooo completely blessed that my mother and my mil have stepped in to help me out. They have been amazing and I am planning on thanking both of them for being so wonderful and willing(well, they practically leaped at the chance...but I can't really blame them..Madi is cute) to watch my baby. I was going to make them a mini book full of Madi's daily activities and cute sayings and of course...some sweet, sweet goodies!

Thanks for this contest. I know I broke the rules and did two, but I really couldn't just pick one. Have a great day!

hi elizabeth... i don't know if i could pick just one... so i'd have to say all the people in my club at school, and my club as a unit. they're incredibly supportive, all the guys in it are total gentlemen, they got me to go out on school nights and they even got me to stay up late wayyy past my normal bedtime. with them it doesn't matter if i'm broke or sad or don't have a boyfriend or don't even have any special plans for that day. so for them i decorated little metal mailboxes, personalized for each of them, and will hopefully get them stuffed before tomorrow with candy and as much love and appreciation i can give. thanks for being so inspiring!

Since I've been sick, I honestly didn't know what day it was until today when I finally looked at my phone and realized Valentines' Day is tomorrow...wish I had something fun planned but honestly I can barely sit up so we might have to postpone it until the weekend. Thanks for the chance to win.

This Valentine's day is a little bittersweet for me. My honey is a loadmaster in the US Air Force and is overseas right now. He left in December and will be home in May. He is such an amazing man and sacrifices so much to serve our country...time away from our kids (there are 5), family, friends, and of course ME. So, for Valentine's day, I wanted to send him some love from home. I took a bunch of pictures and made a little mini book for him and wrote several reasons why I love him, the kids painted him pictures, I made a cd of songs that are significant to us as a couple, and of course included some yummy homemade goodness as well all in a big huge care package so he knows how much he is loved and missed.

It's my hubby's bday today and I just want him to know how much I truly appreciate everything he does for our family. Working 7days/wk is no easy chore but he does it without complaining and to help pay for our growing medical bills. He didn't want any fancy present or lavish outing. Just a quiet dinner at home with me and the boys. Right now I can hear him playing the piano with our three year old... he's simply the best. And by tommorrow he would have forgotten about his birthday and he'll shower me lots of attention for Valentine's Day. Yeah... he's a keeper. Nothing special planned for tommorrow except to simply enjoy being in each other's company.

My sweet, wonderful boyfriend. He works so hard for us so we can have the money we need to live and to save for a wedding and a house. He's one of those people who doesn't know how much he's worth, and I've made it my life's mission to show him. This year our Valentine's Day is actually going to be on March 7th. Why? Because instead of going out to a movie and dinner he suggested we go see a show (he knows me so well!) and that's when the show is. So I'm planning on taking us out to dinner before hand in Littly Italy, Baltimore since he LOVES Italian. I really wanted to make him something to show him how much I love him but between unexpected expenses and having to meet goals at work to get a promotion I simply ran out of time and money to do that for him. But there's always next year!

I love my family more than life itself! I have an amazing husband and two wonderful kids, as well as great extended family!
My daughter is our oldest, four years older than her brother. She is the best big sister, but along with her brother came a bit less time and attention for her. She never ever complains or whines about it and is happy with the time that we do have together. She spends a lot of time playing with her bro to help me out and I can never tell her how special she is! That said, we are having "special" time on Saturday... going out for muffins and doing some girl stuff. I can't wait!
Happy Valentine's Day!

My husband is the special person in my life. We have been married a little over a year, and during that year he has brought out the best in me. Before meeting him I had the worst self esteem. I didn't care about myself or who I was because I was NEVER good enough. Now, I know that I am a beautiful woman just by the way that he looks at me. You know when you can just be in someone's arms and the whole world seems happier that you have one special man. We are trying to save as much money as we can right now, so I am going to just spend time with my husband. I am going to let him know I love him by listening to him, and just being there for him. Being the woman that he SO deserves. Thank you for doing this for us Elizabeth. You are truly inspirational and it sure feels good to sit back and thank of how blessed we each are.

Thank you.

You'll find this fun... being LDS and all. I met my husband when he was on his mission in Kentucky. I wasn't a member, but he and his companion found our family because my mom was an inactive member (didn't know that). He taught our family and baptised my sister and me. His comp baptised my other sis. Then a week later he was gone. Fast Forward>>> a year later the mission split and he went to a new mission. He got permission to write and see how our family was doing. We cooresponded occasionally. Fast Forward>>> I moved to Cedar City, Utah to go to SUU not knowing that "my missionary" lived 45 minutes away in St. George. Found it out, and hung out with him and his friends on weekends. Fast Forward>>> got married a year after I moved to Utah, and 7 years later still THRILLED! I mean... I'm about to have my 4th kid. I should be thrilled... right??? LOL!

What are we doing for V-Day? Nothing. Neither of us see the point of going out in the crowds and chaos only to be annoyed. We'll stay at home and put the kids to bed and enjoy some quiet time together watching movies. Then... tomorrow when most of the hype has went away, we'll to to this new yummy Thai place in town and eat spring rolls and curry! Mmmm...

What are you going to do for your V-Day Liz? Hubby home yet???

I was married 15yrs in October to my BEST friend! He truly is the 1 I turn to for anything! I try to do little things thru out the year to show my appreciation like notes in his lunch, bring him flowers out of the blue, or even just some "H.T." (hug therapy!) He is most grateful for the 2 beautiful children I was able to give him! A daughter and a son! So this year, no one will be working, and we will all be home to enjoy a full meal at the table! To my husband and I, it truly is the "little things" that matter!

My hubby is my best friend. He understands me more than most people and he knows when to give me space. I have to laugh, because i met him at a fraternity party. It seems like most of the comments were about their husbands, I figure I devote my answer to my kids. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE and ADORE my husband but just to be different I'll go with my four year old son and two year old daughter. They are by far the best gifts I've ever recieved in my life. They bring so much joy to me and usually it's when they are at their naughtiest when I get the sense of how blessed I am to have them. They're at this age now were they're own uniqueness comes out. All those funny one liners or looks that only they can give you makes you wanna laugh off the anger you might feel at that time.
For valentines this year we made some some treats together. They helped me make some chocolate covered pretzels for our primary children in the ward. I know they enjoyed not only eating the finished treats but also spending time with me, cause I know I did.
thanks for letting me share

But, unfortunatly when we first started dating, he informed me that he was a holiday "hater." Being a crafty girl, I couldn't believe my ears. So, I'm slowly starting to push my holiday ways into his heart. For Valentines day this year, I'm indulging his extra large sweet tooth and making him goodies. Chocolate covered strawberries and homemade ice cream sandwiches are on the menu! Followed by my mom's recipe for chicken enchilada's. Then it's a romantic "us" night. Candles and a massage because I think for how hard he works for me, and allowing me to stay at home and not work is an amazing thing. I just want him to relax and maybe realize that valentines wasn't just created by the card company people, but to show our love to each other.. even though we do everyday. :)

By far, my husband is the love of my life and beyond. This is totally going to sound like a violin is playing in the background, but we are apart right now. He recently got laid off so he traveled to Texas to follow some job leads. February is the month of our wedding anniversary (8 years!!!), our son's birthday (he turned one) and Valentine's day....and he is going to miss all of them. HOWEVER, we haven't let this get us down. I snuck into his suite case, two cards that I whipped up without him knowing. One for our anniversary and another for Valentine's. He was so surprised to get both that it just made his day.
**And for the record I am in my favorite pj's and watching Tristan and Isolde!!! SO GOOD!

I decorated our dining room (which we never use!) put out our fancy china, wine glasses with sparkling cider, candles, heart confetti, homemade cards for each of my kids (ages 5, 2 1/2, 1) and we had a gourmet meals of...KFC (or drumstick chicken according to my 5 year old!!) You would have thought it was Christmas - I love the way kids get excited about things! After kids went to bed - it was time to break out the cozy pj's and my wonderful husband sat through "13 going on 30" - twice - :) actually, once - but I totally could have watched it again!!!!! Hope you had a great Valentine's Day too!!

I'm not married, so our family drew names and whoever's name you drew you had to do something special to show your love for that person on Valentines Day, whether it was gifts, or an act of service. I had my youngest sister's name, and it was so fun to be able to do little things for her here and there throughout the day, and leaving little notes and candy around. FOr something special I did a photo shoot for her and made cupcakes...fun stuff! I love that we can have a day to celebrate how much we love someone.

I really enjoy reading your blog! You inpsire me SO much!!

hugs to you liz!!

My husband and 14 year old daughter are the most amazing people!! We always go to dinner together as a family for V-Day. We don't exchange gifts because we feel that our love for each other is shown in so many ways 365 days a year. I am so blessed to have these 2 in my life. They bring me such joy every day!!

My husband's birthday was 2 days before V-day. He turned 48 this year so I made him a list of 48 reasons why I love him. Some were kind of cheesy, some were kind of stupid but all were true. It made a big impact on him and he thought it was a super "gift". I could easily list over 100 reasons...he's a great guy and wonderful dad to our 2 kids.

I picked my husband who is my rock and best friend. I carefully planted little gifts for him throughout the day. I made him a cd and put it in his car, told him to drive to starbucks, where I had arranged with the staff there to give him his favorite coffee in a special mug (which I had paid for) I arranged found out his lunch plans for the day and had the manager to put a love note on his plate. Just small ways to let him know I care! -Mary S.

My sweet husband... he does so much for me and I adore him! He had to work for some of the day (his boss was nice enough to let him have a 3 hour dinner break!) So I wanted to make the day special for him with our little budget that we have.... Through out the day he found little hearts with reasons why I loved him. I put them in places he would randomly find them through out the day- in his shoe, in his wallet, on the mirror, in the car, on the door when he came in from a long day of work, on the computer- and one above the bed telling him how much I love him and that he was the last person I wanted to see at night and the first person I wanted to see when I woke up. Instead of going somewhere I wanted to go for dinner- I know how much he loves Mexican so I took him to a new restaraunt- and we both loved it! I made him his favorite sugar cookies and had candles lit and his favorite slow jams playing for him when he came home. He does so much for me- I wanted to try to make his day a little extra special!

I know that there have been a lot of posts but I am going to write this anyway. About 8 years ago my husband passed away. At that time, I had 4 kids under the age of 6! It was the hardest time of my entire life. I started to work for Costco. I feel like I met an angle there. Paul worked at Costco also. He had just moved from Alaska because he won full custody of his two kids and he wanted to move to Utah to be closer to his parents. We became great friends. He asked me out on a date. Instead of asking just me... he asked my four kids to come with us. We all went to the park. He changed my daughter's diaper... can you believe that? What man does that? HAHAHA! Anyway, we continued to date and then get married. He has changed my life and my children's life. Just last month he adopted all of my kids! He said in court that he felt like all the pieces of his life were finally right with having these beautiful children in his life. He has filled that huge void of having my first husband gone. I feel so lucky to have been married to 2 fabulous men. They have enriched my life!
Thanks!

I made a cute card and special dinner for my wonderful husband who makes me laugh and encourages me with everything. We had to go to the doctor today to talk about our treatments for infertility and received the sad news that after 6 months on medication I now have cysts in my ovaries and need to take a break from treatment until they are gone. He walked home from work and picked up flowers on the way to cheer me up.

Hi.
My husband is just the best. We celebrated our 10th anniversary on February 11th. We got married 8 months after we met and after having spent only 41 days together on 3 separate trips since we lived at either side of the world. So 10 years and still be in love, it's big. I made a special album with 10 songs that best reprensent our love story. I wrote the words to the song on one page and the story behind each song on the facing page and of course I burned a cd with said songs. My hubby loved it. Thanks, Sarah, Honolulu, Hi.

Like a lot of the resposes here, I'd like to say my "special someone" is my husband.

Him and I have been through everything together. We have two boys and have been married for almost 3 years. He is my best friend and has always been there for me when times have gotten rough. We've had our ups and downs, who hasn't.

I love with him with all my heart and look forward to growing old together!

Ok, Last summer my boyfriend of 2 years and fiance of 1 year decided he was not ready to get married and left me. I was heart broken. I mopped for three months. I then went back to school that fall and with in a week and a half I met Jordan. On our first date he took me out to a field to watch shooting stars. We have been together now for about 6 months and I could not be happier. He has stood by me through everything, my wierdness my sadness, and he is still here. I could not have asked for a more caring (and gorgeous!) individual. I look forward to many more months of fun and happiness. I have become a poster child for something good will always come out of something bad. : ) Thank you for the opportunity Elizabeth!

Hi Elizabeth,
I am new to you blog and I love it. My husband and I work rotating opposite shifts so we don't have to send Tanner our son(age 5) to a babysitter in the morning before school. My husband leaves for work at 4:30am and returns home about 1:20pm. I leave for work at 1:30pm and get home at 12:20am. So we only see each other for about 10 minutes per day. I am on night shift this week so I am going to make my wonderful husband (we just had our 6th anniversary on the 9th ~we took our boys to a fisheree)a card and put it under his pillow when he goes to bed I will have a little note in it to tell him to push play on our radio and as he goes to bed he will listen to ~~When I said I do ~~By: Clint Black and his wife. I love my husband and I think he will sleep well Valentines night knowing how much I love him.
Thanks So Much !! I hope you and your family have a SWEET Valentines day.

This Valentine's was very hard. On Valentine's Day 2006 I found out I would be having a c-section the next day. My beautiful baby, Ivey, was born the next day... breech with two loops of cord around her precious neck... she is my little sweetie. I always think about how I wouldn't have my little sweetheart when I see hearts and Valentine-y things if my doctor hadn't done that c-section. Well, this year the hearts are here reminding me, but my little girl is sick with RSV & peumonia and there were no Valentines and no birthday parties. I just stopped in to look at your blog and listen to the relaxing music while I read the mail before I head back to be with her. When she is better, I'm going to teach her how to show her new age "2" with her fingers, and I'm going to hug her bunches, and I'm going to bake her a cake with heart sprinkles.

For my husband and I, this will be our first V-day after our marriage in November. For us, we do not celebrate this day in Febraury, but a whole moth earleir in January, which is als othe annivesary of our getting together. For my darling, we will spend the day just enjoying each others company, over boardgames, reading and a good homecooked meal=)

I made a homemade valentine for my sweet heart and gave him a little box of candy. Though we are short on funds right now there is always craft stuff around. So while this valentines was modest it was still filled with love. The kind you can't buy. The kind that is made from scratch and is best when shared.

I try to find some cute way everyday to tell my DH that I love him. I will shower before him and write it on the mirror so when it steams up again he will see it! Sometimes I will spell it in his potatoes when I fix his plate! Some people find this to be cheesey but I just love surprising him to say I love you!
