starting 'em young

My big helper! How do I get anything done with this little one around? I'll be the first to admit that when there's a lot to do on my desk nothing sounds better then letting Aerial and Big Bird babysit her for a few hours! But sometimes my motherly conscience won't let me-at least not for hours:) Instead, I work while she destroys my office then we spend twice as long cleaning everything up! She was cute though this morning using the tape runner and pretending like she was scrapbooking. But I couldn't turn my back too long or she was eating the markers. Yumm!
Wanna know my new scrap obsession? The Bind-It-All! I swear they call it that because when you get it you want to bind together anything in sight! I used a bunch of the envelopes, pockets, and lined paper from Lisa Bearnson's Kit of the Month to make this book. It's going to be the new home to my SOY memorabilia and huge stack of pictures that are collecting dust. So, if you need anything bound-I'm your gal!

That will be a great keepsake. That kit looks like fun too!! I may need to check it out. I've always wondered how other moms scrapped with their kids. Looks like we're in the same boat huh!! LOL Great mini album hon.

Ooh, that took is awesome! I've been wanting to bind my daughters' school stuff together and was planning on taking it somewhere to get it done, but I know I'd easily get $60 worth of use out of that!
Thanks for sharing.

Avery looks adorable sitting on the desk like that :)

No baby yet??? I swear I check your blog everyday just to see if you've had your sweet #2...and still no baby. I guess I could just wait until Josh says he never sees Collin at work, but if I did that I couldn't see pictures.

I also have an unhealthy obsession with my Bind-It-All. You start hunting for scraps of paper and chips of plastic and saving junk mail just to make an album!

Your is adorable.

I just opened my kit last night and thought where do I start. And now you just gave me a great idea! Thanks!
Best wishes this week with the baby.

What an inspiration, that looks fabulous. I think the Bind-It-All has just found a home on my wish list as well. I am always hoarding odds and ends from boxes and mailers (I can be a MacGyver scrapper) and this would be perfect to put them all together.

I would be honored if I could put a link to your blog (http://mimmersscrapbooks.blogspot.com/)on mine. Since I found this blog last week I have been checking daily for inspiration, and also to see if baby #2 is here!!! You are an inspiration!

Happy Scrapping,

Kimberly in Nevada

Wow Elizabeth! That is awesome. And look at Avery. She is so cute! Madi has helped me quite a few times with scrapbooking and my projects...but she doesn't eat the markers. She will tell me "no don't do that....time out!" yes I get put on time out by a 2 year old. Lucky me. LOL!

Great album. Loving your stuff!

I fianlly made my Avery a little scrap bag/ station of her own in the office next to me so she could "crapbook". This way my tape runners don't end up in a tangled mess. And I let her go to town on the the patterned papers from the giant paper slabs that have alot of rejects in them.

Your book is cute...wasn't sure what bind it all was, until I read the other comments. In the teaching world we call it a "book maker"???

Yep...love that bind it all.
Oh, remember those days...what a great helper you have! By the time my oldest was 3 he helped me organize my scraps by color...so stick with it....you WILL actually have a helper before you know it! :)

I just taught 2 classes using the bind-it-all this past week. They loved it! My wheels are spinning with ideas for all the things I can make with it! I will tell you it's hard to use with a baby in one hand! LOL! (We had our 4th seven weeks ago) Luckily the ladies at my class were happy to pass Ronan around while I bound their projects for them!
I keep checking back to see when your new baby girl will arrive - it's such a beautiful thing! Enjoy your labor & birth! Can't wait to "meet" your new little one! What an amazing year you are having!

Oh Liz, that picture of Avery just makes me laugh! It was totally just like my little ones (only add a boy in the mix!!) they are now 3 & 4 and they "help" me lots! LOL They get all my discards and have their own area in my scrap room! They call it their craft room and they think that every house has one! =)

I could have taken that exact same picture yesterday! Mine has her own drawer of stuff, with safety scissors and glue sticks even. And lots of WASHABLE, non toxic markers. :)
