my fabric muse & a giveaway!

While I went to grab my camera to share this super cute applique pattern with you, Avery hurried to the kitchen to grab a piece of pizza. With the pizza sauce inches from her fresh, white shirt I snapped a photo! Not only is she fast but she's sneaky too! :) Okay, back to the pattern, I've been wanting to use this pattern on one of Avery's shirts for months and I finally did! I found it at Sandi Henderson's blog. She designed all the fabric in the quilt I made for Quincey, this book, the recycle bag etc etc. She's amazing!
The fabric I used on this tee is Amy Butler (shame on me;) but I can't wait to play with Sandi's new Farmer's Market line. If I could only even attempt to sew the skirts and other beauties she whips out for her girls, but for now I'll stick to using her fabric in my scrapbooks. :)

Also, it makes me happy that Scrap Etc loves my blog readers as much as I do and want to send one of their killer kits to a lucky reader's doorstep!! But the question is what do you have to do to win one? :) How about leave me a comment about something you're anticipating about Fall. While you're thinking click on their blog and check out the awesome examples they've made with it!
I wish I could attend their Wrapper's Delight but I will for sure be at their Spring event! Then I can hang out with my friend Gretchen & she can show me why she loves the South so much!! What are grits anyway? :)

I'm a West Virginia girl, so of course the best thing about Fall is WVU football!!!! Last year our coach left us to head off to Michigan so we are starting brand new with a new coach. WVU football means getting together with the family, eating great food, and watching some football! :)

What I am anticipating most about fall is Thanksgiving. It is my favorite holiday and I love everything about it. The decorations, the dinner, the dessert, the parade, and all the time with family and friends. This year I'm hosting and I'm going to do a special mini book that everyone can write in - I can't wait!

Wow, so many comments! :) I am anticipating our daughter's tenth birthday. We love the "double digit" birthday around here. She wants a pocket watch, inspired by the golden compass book. She wants her birthday theme to be "time/clock". Her birthday is early October. :) Their minds, growing and changing, make me smile... and want to scrapbook! :)

Not ready for it yet, but when it gets here, I always enjoy the gorgeous liquidamber trees when they change color (yes, our trees in CA change color, too! LOL) and high school football games on chilly nights.

I love everything there is about Fall! It's by far my favorite season. Our family loves going through the huge corn maze at a nearby pumpkin farm and carving a host of pumpkins for our porch. Funny thing with me is, I like to look out at the trees changing colors because it reminds me of a bowl of Trix cereal! The colors of Fall just make me feel so good!!

Fall....I'm not so sure. We left our "baby" at college. It has not been my husband and I for almost 22 years. I guess fall is going to be a time for us to get to know each other again. I'm not sure what this next step of my life will be like......but hope that I will learn to like and enjoy it even though my girls are not here all the time. Time will tell.

I'm looking forward to taking our two children, ages 3 1/2 and 2, to our favorite pumpkin patch and having them stand next to the "how tall this fall" pumpkin display for an annual photo to see how they've grown since last year. They never really stand still enough to actually see how tall they really are, but that's the best part of the photo! We started taking the pics by the display since our son's first Halloween and it's something we hope to continue. And once that's done, I can't wait to scrapbook the photo(s)!

Because of my health I had to take a look at my life and rethink what I was doing to myself and my 14 year old son. I am a single mom on Disability and the only parent for my son Mathew. I suffer from many ailments Fibromyalgia and Diabetes being the 2 top concerning ones. I want to be around to enjoy my grandchildren and be able to scrapbook them and make them Quilts as well... I'm looking forward to eating Honeycrisp apples (I just discovered them last year -- they are so tasty!) fresh from the orchard! And, I just got a dehydrator so I'm hoping to get a ton of dried apples for the next year. Is that really possible, though? My family eats a batch almost as soon as it's out of the dryer!

My favorite part of fall is when the temperatures turn cooler- considering I live in Texas and I can't wait to have the hig be in the 70s instead of the low 100s. Really though, I love the crisper air, going on our annual pumpkin patch trip, high school football games, apple cider and getting out my fall decorations.

Love that shirt you made!

Not really looking forward to the "chill" that we don't get here in AZ, but hoping to at least throw on a pair of jeans before Christmas!
Pumpkin scented candles really "make" Fall for me!

Love the shirt! Thanks for always sharing your rockin ideas!
What is not to love about fall? Hard to pick one thing, but pumpkins has to be my top pick! Pumpkins on the front step, kids' construction paper pumpkins, going to the pumpkin patch and picking them off the vine, carving jack-o-lanterns... justlove them!

What do I love about fall? Really, do you want to get me started?!?

Fall is my favorite season! I love the feeling of warmth and coziness, the autumn leaves, apples, warm apple cider, the cooler weather, picking pumpkins, the warm decorating colors, candles, etc. etc. etc.

No way! Look what happens 24 hours after I check! So I won't win, but I am so excited for fall this year. We moved from Canada in the middle of the summer to South Jordan Utah and we now have moved from two seasons to all four! I LOVE fall! The colors, the anticipation of upcoming holidays and family time, memories and pictures, scrapbooking.... The colors, smells, sights, and the nip in the air, but still great sunshiny weather! Happy Fall All!

I love fall cooking-making soups, stews and all that good warm comfort type food. But I'm most looking forward to a crop in a few weeks-as a stay at home Mom with young kids I don't get much scrapbook time especially away from the house.

Ahh, fall. This year for me, I am not looking forward to any of the typical fall things like Halloween/Thanksgiving, the leaves etc. In the last year, I had a baby and moved across the country - almost coast to coast. I'm also getting married in exactly 3 weeks from today, in the place where I moved from. Needless to say, thi year has been a bit stressful for me.

So, I am looking forward to fall because it means no more HUGE life events to anticipate or prepare for. I can finally settle in, relax, and just enjoy my family and my wonderful new life.

So many things to look forward to in fall...preschool starting again for Eli, MOPS group starting, a schedule again, the cool air, the beautiful colors, wearing sweaters...I really could go on and on. The only I don't look forward to is winter after fall. Not so fun here in Minnesota :)

Now to the other part of the comment . . . Fall is a time when it seems like all of my family comes back home. The vacations are over and its time for football games, comfy foods and family gatherings.
