my fabric muse & a giveaway!

While I went to grab my camera to share this super cute applique pattern with you, Avery hurried to the kitchen to grab a piece of pizza. With the pizza sauce inches from her fresh, white shirt I snapped a photo! Not only is she fast but she's sneaky too! :) Okay, back to the pattern, I've been wanting to use this pattern on one of Avery's shirts for months and I finally did! I found it at Sandi Henderson's blog. She designed all the fabric in the quilt I made for Quincey, this book, the recycle bag etc etc. She's amazing!
The fabric I used on this tee is Amy Butler (shame on me;) but I can't wait to play with Sandi's new Farmer's Market line. If I could only even attempt to sew the skirts and other beauties she whips out for her girls, but for now I'll stick to using her fabric in my scrapbooks. :)

Also, it makes me happy that Scrap Etc loves my blog readers as much as I do and want to send one of their killer kits to a lucky reader's doorstep!! But the question is what do you have to do to win one? :) How about leave me a comment about something you're anticipating about Fall. While you're thinking click on their blog and check out the awesome examples they've made with it!
I wish I could attend their Wrapper's Delight but I will for sure be at their Spring event! Then I can hang out with my friend Gretchen & she can show me why she loves the South so much!! What are grits anyway? :)

I LOVE the Autumn season. I love the way the colors change, the way the leaves crunch under my feet, apple picking, the anticipation for the holidays, but most of all I love the traditional evening walks spent with just me and my sweet family. We bundle up and find missing scarves and hats. Then we venture out on the Green Belt along the river. We hold hands with the little ones, and enjoy the colorful trees lining the pathway, the sound of the water rushing down the river, and the cool breeze against our backs. Then we head back home for cookies and hot chocolate, then settle down and read stories together, then snuggle into bed :)

It is a happy/sad time as I miss her so much, but this is just one of the ways I keep her memory alive. Happy fall to you all! Amy stuart

I'm so looking forward to dragging out my fall wardrobe again! I seem to have a much better fall/winter wardrobe than spring/summer. Plus, I love to dress in layers, so fall is great time for that. This is the first 'fall' we'll share with our new daughter and I can't wait to go to local park for a day of family photos amongst the leaves. It's a favorite of ours.

Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

To me, fall is change. The whole of it - it's just plain awesome what God created! How things perish only to be once again (the irony eh?)
I am looking foward to growing and changing personally - celebrating my beautiful baby girl Jordyn Kamille's first b-day and playing with my overly busy 2.5 year old Kaleb at our local park, taking walks or in his words, "riding the stroller."
This year fall symbolizes more than scenery and weather change, I am reveling in starting over with the change of seasons and knowing that I am triumphant in overcoming an incredible bout of postpartum depression and loving that I've been blessed with!

My husband and I just recently stayed in a cabin in Southern Illinois while on a motorcycle trip with friends where there was absolutely nothing to do! We can not wait to take our 3 children (who are 13-10-6 years old) in a few weeks when the leaves have changed colors and the air is crisp. We are so excited to do "absolutely nothing" with our family but hang out, talk, and just look at eachother. Remembering when they were babies (just yesterday) and how many years we have left before they are grown. We have had a very busy summer with all 3 children in ball & always splitting up going in seperate directions. I just can't wait for this time together...together doing absolutely nothing at all.
