it's official

Avery is a big girl!
In her big girl bed!
Yesterday I took apart her crib and turned it into a bed.
It ended up being a full size not a twin like I thought and took up her whole room.
So, we turned to plan B and put together this toddler bed I had bought from Ikea.
She loved it so much she slept-in until 8:17!!!!!! Are you kidding me? She hasn't slept in the past 2 years of her life!
I was happy!
Collin was too! Although I think he might have been a little sad to miss their early morning cuddle-time while watching Curious George and Sid the Science Kid!
I know this isn't the best quality picture-but I love it!
It's so Avery-mismatched clothes, crazy pigtails, mouth wide open because she's either singing, telling me some silly story that I can pick out maybe 4 words, or asking me "what a daddy says?" which she responds by putting her head back and laughing. I taught her that one... and if you ask her what a Mommy says she'll give you a big kiss. :^*
With all of this copycat Mommy stuff I have to be very careful what I say-especially in the car. No more road rage I guess! ;)
I can't remember what I was doing a couple days ago but I dropped something and said, "Oh, man." then I hear across the room... "Ah, mam." Yes, I have to be very, very careful! :)

We just turned our son's crib into a big boy bed as well. He LOVES it! Very cute comforter...would you mind telling us where you got it?

You are adorable as always! Thanks for the inspirations!

my 2yo son is the same way. He repeats everything now. Of course once he got his big boy bed a month or so ago he slept fine but didn't sleep in. He still wakes up cheerfully at 6:30 am !OUCH! But we do love watching early morning super why or tigger & pooh on the dvr.

How cute!! She looks so happy. And how you describe your Avery's moments of toddlerhood bring back my own memories. These are the best pics to look back on.

Love the picture. We have a pink net hanging thing in our daughter's room too. She loves it. It surrounds her little rocking chair and book basket, so it's her "reading" nook (she can't read yet, but you get the idea). :o) I have 4-year-old boy-girl twins. They both LOVE Sid the Science Kid. Cute show!

Where did you get the hanging butterflies?

awww so cute! I have been having a hard time scrapping lately...it took me forever to do 2 pages last night and I wasn't really happy with either of them!

Hi Keri,
The butterflies are from USA Baby! and there are similar ones at Pottery Barn kids.

So adorable. Lia has that same bed. :)

My mom has been telling me about that bakery, but after seeing your picture I really want to go! I've been looking for the perfect blue paint and maybe that is it.

Yes, that being careful what we say is hard. The other day in traffic someone ran a red light and almost hit me - I said "ohmygod" and my daughter (almost 5) said "mama, we don't say that". I apologized to her and told her she was right.

Yeah - the office is on tonight!

It's interesting that you thought the photo wasn't the best quality. When I saw it I thought it had a beautiful, dreamy quality to it.

Congrats Miss Avery on your new big girl bed!! WTG on staying in it!

awww, pure sweetness! Your girls are beautiful! Isn't it amazing how quickly they pick up little things! lol... my 4 year old is very into copying everything anyone says and does. Gotta love it! I LOVE what you said you taught her about what a daddy says and what a mommy says! SO cute! Thanks for all the inspiration!

So funny, I have an AVERY too! And she's exactly the same, she has the funniest fashion sense (we call her Punky Brewster), lopsided piggtails (if she leaves them in) and she is always talking!!! Enjoy her, they are sooo fun! And enjoy that sleeping in time!

so pretty! how do you keep her from tugging down the mesh hangy thing? i could never do that in my girls' room....i'd go in there at midnight and they'd be swinging from the ceiling on that thing!

but it is a very pretty set up. :O)

Am I too big for a bed like that with the canopy, butterflies, and all? I wonder what my husband would say if he came home to a princess room??? Great picture and fun ponies.

Yay, what a big girl in her big bed! Love when the kiddos sleep in their own big bed and look at her sleeping in like that! We definitely have to watch what we say these days. DS said this morning, "now we're talking" after he got me to do something he wanted!

New reader for your blog. :) I so know what you mean by having to be careful what you say when your little one is there. We have a handicapped adult that lives with us and we're always waiting for him. Now our little girl says quite often "Where the heck is Robin?" in a frustrated voice.
I find that it helps me to keep my cool in traffic when I listen to something spiritual while driving (yep, I'm lds too). My favorite is Inside Out Acappela cd's or talk cd's. I drive less crazy and things don't bother me as much. ;)

Did you paint yet? Did you see
Good Things Utah on Friday? They had painting tips and I am totally sad that I didn't see those tips 2 weeks ago. I just painted a lot of walls in our new house. Anyway, one of the tips was to use rubber cement instead of painters tape. And Chapstick around glass. I was swearing at the tape because It didn't work. ~Dang too bad I went through all the trouble before I learned the tips. Hope you can use them. By the way, I painted my Craft room.... newly labled "the creation room" a blue similar to yours but a little darker. So fun!! 'Sorry for the novel' Have a great weekend!

its going by too fast. Tutus and pigtails and suddenly she looks like a little girl instead of our toddler Avery!

Like a three year old! Wow. Charity had fun helping you keep track of her at Ikea! How would you ever shop anywhere with AVery and without an extra set of hands???

I just wanted to tell you I love your blog, especially your music playlist! I always open your blog when I'm working just so I can listen to it. Thanks for the musical inspiration!

Yea for big girl Avery! And what a great girlie girl room she has! We had the same problem with my daughter Madison's bed. Her room also is too small for her convertible full size bed so we just took off the front railing to make it a day bed.....but I think she is already ready for a bigger bed. Looks like we may check out Ikea too! :-)

What a sweet little girl. Both of your girls are darling Liz. I would love to see them sometime when I come up there. I know you are super busy though. Your blog always gives me great ideas! You are too cute!
