i heart dimples

One of my goals this year is to take better photos & to expand my knowledge of my camera as well as Photoshop. I noticed from the giveaway post that a lot of you share the same desire & have goals along the same lines. If your goal is to take a photo-a-day not only will you have an awesome glimpse of your life by the end of the year but you will in turn become a better photographer. Well, that's what we hope right?
Craft time is one of our favorite times of our day, next to the numerous snack times. This particular afternoon we were painting with watercolors. She loves it and Woody enjoys to sit and watch too! :)
I wasn't loving the shots I was getting so I sat on the kitchen floor. One of my goals to getting better photos is to explore new angles and sitting on the kitchen floor was a great way to mix up the daily shots I capture at our kitchen table.

"Create inspiring, noble & righteous goals that fire your imagination & create excitement in your heart." Joseph B. Wirthlin
In the January CK I share with readers a magnetic board full of goals for this year. I have photos of the basic categories then there's a clip where I've written then hung more of the specific details. I'm not that great at New Year's Resolutions but this way I can switch out my goals if something is completely unattainable and reevaluate each month.
(To see more check out the January Creating Keepsakes.)
Last year was a great one for goals:
Have a baby. check
Sing at the top of my lungs with Coldplay. check
Start a column in CK. check
Eat my weight in cookie dough. double check

I can feel this year will be a great one too!

I've enjoyed reading your posts...and I certainly love looking at your photos! I just read the manual that came with my camera in hopes of some day taking good photos.

I have a question...do you scrapbook every day? How are you inspired on days when you feel less than inspirational? I'm struggling with my scrapbooking- I go for several months feeling uninspired and my stack of photos grows out of control. Do you have any techniques? I can sit and stare at my photos for hours and not come up with anything.

Thanks!

Love your blog and can I say you have a beautiful little family...I have an award for you on my blog - no stress but thought you might like to see it...I love your eye for style and how it intertwines in your art work and your home style (from what I can see in the pictures)

have a fabulous day

Love that little pony tail...I am going to be "photo-copier" and try scootin' around in the floor later too. Thanks for the tip! Love the dream board. My 13 year old daughter and I plan to make one with our dreams and goals...we just can't seem to find a bulletin board with a white frame...I am all about the white in my scrap room...LOL!

Also my resolution, to take better photos and try new angles. So far I've sat on the floor, actually have layed down on the floor, stood on chairs, and bent sideways...oh, what we do for our art! I LOVE your board and that nothing is set in stone, they can all be reevaluated and changed. Great ideas and inspiration!!

I was so inspired by your goal board in CK - I bought a frame to create one for myself (with very similar goals, actually) but I haven't been able to get pictures of everything yet. Random question for you - do you do yoga at home? I would love to start but I have no idea what I'm doing. If you know of any good beginner dvds, do share! Thanks so much for sharing your ideas - I think the board is a perfect idea to have a visual going with each goal.

Avery is just so stinkin cute. Look at all that hair in the pony tail. My little girl at that age still looked like a little boy for lack of hair.

This may be a stupid question...but where did you get the magnetic board? I've been looking for one, but I need a large size...those seem hard to find. Thanks in advance! I heart dimples too..my son has one on each side. :) Your kiddos are sure cute.

It is my goal, to somehow, get a great camera, that has been my dream for 7 years now?.. and to a-get Photoshop and b-master it! Somehow, the needs of the kiddos always come first :) One day, one day..

I loved that article. I am not the best at year long goals, I need aomehting more immediate, so I decided to put a little board in my bathroom so I can see my goals everyday. The idea is to change it each month.

Got the idea from your article, thanks!

I love reading your blog, but I have a question. How did you get those awesome scrolls on your wall? Did you use a die cut machine and some of that self adhesive vinyl? I just bought a Silohuette, I would love to do that!

Thanks!
