Tonight we went over to my good ol' buddy Dainon Haggard's house for some good ol' fashion pumpkin carving...boy that's fun stuff. nothing better than sticking your hand in a pumpkin and pulling out it's entrails, like gutting a freshly caught trout. it reminded me of the time back when i was in taiwan when i once helped a farmer "deliver" some piglets...that couldn't get out on their own...don't ask, don't tell.
Avery stuck her hand inside, quickly pulled it out, and gave me that, "I 'aint touching that" look...to which I promptly reminded her that I change her diapers everyday that look worse...then she started eating it. not her diaper, the pumpkin.
Liz pretending that she's not digusted...
We Kartchner's don't waste any portion of the pumpkin carcass and anyone who does should be shunned..."It's an old Amish tradition, it's like slapping someone with silence. I was shunned from the age of four until my sixth birthday for not saving the excess oil from a can of tuna." (NAME THAT QUOTE:______)
...douse those seeds in a pound of salt and bake them for tasty treat/guaranteed future cardiac arrest.
Avery and her two BFF's Kazhia and Meilee say....HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

You guys are Office carazy!! It looks like you had a great time carving pumpkins. We'll be doing our this weekend. Totally with you about saving all parts. Pumpkin seeds are sooooo good!! Great Post Colin!!
Hmmmm...that sounds suspiciously like something Dwight would say. Wasn't he trying to shun Andy at one point?
By the way, I'm pretty sure pumpkin guts can be used as shampoo. Hope you saved yours!
I figured this is what Collin was doing when I fell asleep on the floor of my office last night :)
It was fun to wake up to this post! And I'm glad he gave everyone a warning before they started reading :)

Collin you are a great writer...lots of details. I love pumpkins....but I must say, I am more of the markers and Mr. Potatoe head decorator with the pumpkins. I really stink at the whole carving thing so way to go!
let's see a pic of the finished pumpkins!!!!!!
Thanks for putting a Dwight quote in, reading it this early in the morning put me in a happy place. We didn't carve pumpkins this year-just painted them-but looks like you guys had lots of fun! And yumm-o on the pumpkin seeds! I'll miss those this year!
Yes, you can definitely tell the difference between the Daddy perspective and the Mommy perspective. Love having the Guest Writer, Liz!
Funny how when you become a parent, almost nothing disgusts you anymore.
Collin, you sure know how to write. I'd like to see a regular post (no less than once a month) from you.
