Avery is definitely learning how to get what she wants. And 'that look' will do it! Or her sweet, little "Pweees, pweese" gets me every time! How do you say no to that face? But I have one quick question, when does the 'I hate my car seat and I will not get in it no matter how hard you try' stage end?
Just a quick page using yummy products from Poppy Ink's March kit!
My sis Emily inspired me yesterday to give up something in honor of lent. So I decided I am not going to eat any sugar for a week. Well, at least not candy, cupcakes, ice cream etc. I was trying to get my family to make a bet out of it, but no takers. How come I am more likely to do better if there's a competition involved? I guess I'm on my own. But I'm excited to not eat any...until we take Avery on an Easter Egg Hunt & I'll eat her hard earned treats. I was thinking of putting her through some training to prepare her for it. I wanna see her throw some elbows and get those eggs! ;)
Join me and let me know if there's something you're willing to withdraw from doing, saying, eating...or do you need a bribe too? :) Happy Monday!

aahhhh the child who doesn't like her car seat. Yes I have one of those. I can't help you...sorry.

And for lent, gosh I haven't even thought about it! Mostly because I have absolutely no willpower or restraint. hmmmm *think, think, think*

I always give up doughnuts and taco bell for lent. Not entirely hard, but doughnuts are my fav!

My Mom gives up chocolate and chips every year, and she gives up all chocolate, like in cake, cookies whatever..she has will power, i could never. he.

Love the LO, mostly the face!
Good luck with ur sugar-less week.

My son is currently in that carseat hating stage too. We haven't found a solution yet, I give in and sit in the back holding him.

Good luck on the sugar cravings :)

You do know that Easter is in two weeks not one right?

I gave up soda for lent. I had started to cut back on drinking them before lent but cut it out completely. Water and lemonaid have become my friends.

Good luck!

My friend makes these real cool car seat covers. She had a mom contact because her son would not get in his car seat it was a battle all the time. Now he loves his personal seat made just for him. Let me know if you are interested and I will get her information.

Oh my goodness!! I am the biggest sugar addict. I applaud your efforts there in giving it up for a week. I can definitely do it though if I'm in a competition. Too bad not many people wanna compete with me. Have a great day. I love the layout. She's a sweetie.

Good luck with the no sugar! I should follow your lead, but darn it I bought oreo's this weekend. . . I don't know if I can say no!!!

I just wanted to let you know, (so you don't think I am a freak) I was just looking through your blog for craft ideas. . . all of your work is so inspiring! You totally deserved scrapbooker of the year!

When Avery gets in her seat willingly, she gets to pick the CD we listen to on the ride. Otherwise its mom's choice.

I too, am motivated by the thrill of competition...I am in a diet/ fitness war with my husband right now!!

I swear he just thinks about carrots and he loses 5 lbs!

Such a cute little girl you have. I have two daughters 15 months apart. They are 8 and 9 now. And one is still in a booster seat! Just wrap your mind around that for awhile. Its best to find a solution now. Heres what I did... My girls both had blankies but this would work with a toy too. I'd outsmart them before we got in the car and ask them if I could give blankie a snuggle (they fell for it every time) then we'd get in the car and i'd ask them once to get in their seat. If they didn't then i'd just sit quietly looking straight ahead and ignore any tantrum or request for theitr blankies. Soon they would get really interested in why I wasn't reacting to their struggle and i'd quietly say "when you get in your seat, i'll give you what you want, and we can go". If the fight started again, i'd go back to my quiet peaceful place and ignore them. When they got in and let me buckle them I gave them what they wanted. It only took a few times, plan ahead and allow for some time. I still use that trick now for different things. When you don't react they get real curious.
Have fun! Deena zigszoo@cox.net www.deenaziegler.typepad.com

Hi Elizabeth. I'm so inspired by all of your work. This is the 1st time that I've actually posted anything to your blog...or anyone's for that matter. I have a general question about your scrapbooking. Do you typically only do 1 12x12 layout? I'm just now starting my daughter's book...6 months behind...shame on me! and I'm torn as to how I should start it. I've always done 2 12x12's side by side...but sometimes it's just too much space to work with. Just thought I would pick your brain since you are so inspiring to me.

What a cute page!! I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking of putting my kidlet through the paces a couple times before the big hunt! LOL

As for lent, I decided to give up fast food completely. It has not been easy!! I'm hoping to make it through and maybe even keep it up after Easter! You know it a problem though when you drive by a mickey-D's and your 2year old says "No Donoods Mommy? Peeeas Donoods!". Yep, we gotta work on that one! LOL

This is such an adorable page! I love the colors. Good luck with your sugar-free week! I'm going to have to come up with something to give up also...

I am such a competitive girl too! My sister-in-law, a friend, and I are currently competing to lose weight. My grandfather said that when I reach 50 pounds lost he will give me $1,000. I offered them $250 of it if they could beat me to the 50 pounds. So far neither can touch me!

I gave up chocolate for Lent and I absolutely CAN'T WAIT for Easter!!! Good luck!

Adorable page! The thing I'm giving up isn't so much something I need to "give up" but something I should have been doing all along, and that is excercising! My goal is that last aweful 15 pounds! Good luck on your "no sugar"! That is another tough one for me too!

Lent??? I thought you were Mormon...No?!?!

Collin Kartchner said...

Mormons need to lay off the sugar too anony...which only means more Cadbury Eggs for me!!

I love this layout. So great to capture that "look", the one that can melt butter and gets you every time! I have always loved the idea of lent, my husband and I have talked about doing it in the past but never actually done it. But you've inspired me. So goodbye to sugar till Easter (my weakness also, I agree with Collin definately a Mormon vice, probably a result of lack of caffeine):)
