My favorite memory has been the feel of the cool hard wood floor we put down earlier in the summer. It just feels better barefoot than the carpet. I'm sure my footsies will be cold in the winter though!

My favorite memory so far was bringing my 2 year old son from the hospital after a week long stay. Once back home we played outside, went to the zoo, the pool, and just played for 4 straight days. We loved our new freedom and cherished the fact that we were out and he was ok.

Thanks for all your ideas and inpiration!!!

The ice cream truck came by our house! I haven't seen the ice cream truck in YEARS and was so surprised to hear it's merry little song playing outside our house. I grabbed my kids and we headed outside to enjoy their first "home delivered" ice cream experience. I think it was just as fun for me as it was for them! :)

Oh my..I have TWO fave memories of this summer: 1) After prayerful thought, we've decided to homeschool BOTH kids.
2) Second to that, I'd say playing board games in our pop-up camper on close-by camping trips and getting WHOOPED by my 6 year old!!

My favorite memory for this summer is taking family camping trips into the Rocky Mountains. I love that my husband and I are creating unforgettable memories as a family on these trips! I'm not a camper at heart, but have learned how much fun we have, hiking, and sitting around the camp fire making smores. I love watching my husband teach our 6, 5, and 2 yr od how to fish. Gotta love it when our little ones catch huge rainbow trouts! What a proud momma and wife I am.

My family and i are moving to Spain at the end of the summer, so this whole season is full of fond memories...the beach, the pool, bbq's and birthday parties in our backyard and the cool breeze from the ocean that drifts through our patio area while sitting with my husband and watching our boys play in the yard...wow. that got long.

sorry.

Thanks for the chance!

I've been enjoying talking to my kids this summer. When they're in school I just don't get to spend nearly as much time with them as I have. And some of our conversations have been truly hilarious.

The other day, while we were running around the living room, pretending to be pirates, he turned to me and said "Mom, you are the weirdest parent I have ever had." LOL

I have been blessed with such a wonderful summer full of great memories!! Family vacations to the lake, pool days, new swing set for the girls... but my favorite is going to the Hot Air Balloon Classic in Indianola, Iowa last week. We went as a family, on the most perfect day, a beautiful blue sky, with little wind, played canvas to the over 60 hot air balloons that dotted to sky that evening. All the different colors, designs and shapes of the balloons inspired me so much... I couldn't take enough photos!! Can't wait to scrapbook them.

Also, I love the new American Crafts papers and embellishments, I have been a big fan of their thickers for a while now!!

My favorite summer memory was taking our son to Disneyland on his 4th birthday...not because of the rides, but because when he heard them announcing that the fireworks display might be canceled cue to high altitude winds, he said "Mommy, I'm going to ask God to take away the winds so we can see the fireworks". He prayed, and I prayed God would answer his prayer and strengthen his sweet faith. And five minutes later, they announced the fireworks would start immediately! It was the *best* fireworks display *ever* :)

Great reading all of the coments now I cannot decided on my favorite. I guess I would have to say, on vacation this summer when we were at the pool and had to get out because someone "had an accident" in the pool. So my 2 year old continued to say "poop in the pool" for the next 2 days. We had to explain that she did not do it and that it happened the other day. We still laugh about it.

Hi there, I really love reading your blog and keeping up with everything.
I have to say my favorite memory this summer so far is my son's fifth birthday. He kept asking me for a surprise birthday for this year's birthday. He asked me so often that I knew it was important to him, so I tried my best. His birthday was on a Friday, so I surprised him with the zoo and a special trip to his favorite restaurant, Red Robin. That evening I asked him if he was surprised at all the fun things we did for his birthday. He replied that he liked it, but was really hoping that all his school friends would jump out and say, "SURPRISE" and they would have a party. I told him that I was so sorry, and he replied,"That's okay, Mommy, I still had a great birthday.

Much to his surprise, I had a big surprise party planned for him on Saturday, with all his school friends there and we all shouted "SURPRISE". He still tells his dad and me how that was his best birthday ever and I can't get enough of how much his face lights up when he comes to tell me that, along with a big hug and kiss.

So, that would be my best memory this summer. I am so glad I was able to make his wish come true. :-)

The most precious part of the evening was when the kids got up and danced together right there on the grass. Loved watching them w/o a care in the world laughing and moving to the music. Well it's winter here in Australia, but I am really looking forward to summer! I can't wait to go to the beach and bask in the warm water then head back to the local shops for a Gelato icecream which we eat on the foreshore watching the surfers. YAY! Come quickly summer!

My fave memory would have to be...watching my children running on the beach. Just something about the salty air, the sandy toes, and the sound of the waves...paradise found! Love those paper lines!

My favorite memory this summer is going back to Las Vegas where my husband and I got married 12 years ago. We hadn't been there together since and had such a ball reliving those memories and to top the entire trip off we went and saw the Phantom of the Opera, 7th row...WOW!! An amazing trip.
Thanks,

Going to New York with my husband. He was going on business & our girls were at there grandparents house that week. So I tagged along. I had never been to NY or hadn't even flown (other than on a 4 seater plane). So it was a new experience for me in more ways than one. It was good to get away just the 2 of us!

This summer I am spending 6 months with my family, 2500 miles away from home. My grandmother passed away in March, so spending time with my family has been my fave part of summer who I usually only see a few times each year.
My 3 year old and I have been going boating and to BBQs every weekend, swimming in the pool every day, and riding horses and ponies every chance we get. It is definately going to be a summer full of wonderful memories of time with family.

It's been a long time since I've been able to buy some awesome scrapping items; I don't have the funds for it :-(
But I'd have to say, as far as summer memories go, going to Lollapalooza in Chicago and experiencing some truly phenomenal bands--that I've never heard of before!--and seeing my favorite band, Nine Inch Nails, for the fourth time has been the sweetest memory.
I would have said it was getting married, but that was back in April...doesn't technically count.

Hope you're having a great summer, Elizabeth! By the looks of your fun photos, it sure seems like it!

With my husband still out of a job 4 months now, I was not sure how our summer would turn out. But this summer I was shown that my kids are little just once and you don't have to do a lot to have fun. I did home school with both of my girls ( mainly to work on the areas they needed), well come Friday was our craft day. The girls loved it. School starts for my 8 year old on Monday Aug 11 and my 4 year will be going to pre-school on Aug 26, life goes so fast. I'm glad we were just together and had fun, doing crafts, pool, playground or just playing games. It was a great summer!!!!

My favorite memory this summer is from when summer officially began, the last day of school! Reading my 12 year old sons end of the year report card. He made the honor roll for the first time! My son has dyslexia and school has been a huge struggle. This is a major accomplishment and we are so proud of Him (although we are always proud of Him and his efforts).

Thanks for letting me share my story! Peg

I don't know if it would be a favorite moment, but is certainly was a highlight. My husband rigged a water ski rope from and oak tree for my boys to swing on.They have been playing Tarzan all summer. I decided to do a little swinging myself last Friday evening. As I am swinging on the ski bar I flip my legs up like a monkey, so the only thing hanging down is my tush. The rope breaks and I go crashing to the ground, right on my tail bone. Breath knocked out of me, paralyzed with pain. I don't think I broke it, but it's so bruised it hurts to sit or lie on my back. That will teach me not to swing like a monkey from a tree again:) Nevertheless, the scrapbooking must continue. I attended an all day crop the following day. Thank goodness for the donut cushions! I was able to complete 18 layouts on Saturday! Missy in SC

My favorite summer memory happened just last weekend. My 2 y.o. son loves the water (or actually the "beach" as he calls it) but is afraid to go in. Last weekend my sister was in town and decided that she was going to get him to come in the water if it took he all weekend. All day Saturday she tried, no luck. All day Sunday she tried again, no luck. 4pm rolled around and it was time for her to get her things together and pack up the car to drive back home (she lives about 3 hours away). Just as she announced it was time for her to go my son jumped up and ran into the water begging her to stay! We played in the water for the rest of the evening and had so much fun. Now all I hear about is the "beach" and the "wawer".

Hope your summer has been going great! Thank you for your generosity. Enjoy the rest of this great weather.

This just keeps coming back to me but I would have to say sitting with my dear friend's elderly mother while the family was making arrangements for her husband's funeral. It was so dear because we spent the time going over the books that I have made for her family. "Nana", can't remember what you talked about 10 minutes ago but she had the best time going through the best times of the family's life in scrapbooks. It was a surprising treasured moment. This was the most treasured next to celebrating the Fourth of July with new friends and family.

Okay, so I'm so not playing the cancer card - but I'm right in between surgeries and radiation and my summer's been a bit dreary as I sit around on my couch and watch my kids play without me. So, I've been keeping productive by figuring out new simple projects - and making my one year old a fluffy pink tutu was number one on my list of projects/memories. There are no words to describe how my heart melted at the sight of her toddling around in such a frilly concoction, with pink glitter shoes on her feet and a smile of delight on her face. That moment, that feeling - that was my favorite memory of summer.
