some of my faves & a giveaway!

Some of my favorite stuff from CHA!

American Crafts paper, why do clouds make me happy so happy? Love their always fabulous thickers!

Scenic Route's new line came just in time since I am working on Christmas stuff for CK right now! I loved the contrast with their girly/boy paper lines.

Cosmo Cricket's new lines are so stinkin' fun! Love their wood grain paper. Why is it that I want wood grain on my pages & on my floor! I love this wood-grain rug from Pottery Barn, actually I'll take the whole office! ;)

Oldies but goodies. Just now getting my hands on the Bloom line by KI Memories. It is one of my all-time favorites! And the Martha Stewart lace border & butterfly punch!

Since I need to make room for some new supplies what better way than giving it to one of my fabulous blog readers!!

It's impossible to fit it all in the picture, trust me, this is my yummiest giveaway yet! :)

My favorite memory would be the beginning of my summer.. Graduating in a stadium of 8000 of my fellow students, sweating in the 90++ degree weather on my birthday. And guess what I was wearing underneath my big, oversized black gown?? A yellow polka dot bikini! What a day! :)

OK -- greatest summer memory? Hard to pick one but here goes: (I seriously love the time I've spent with my family - that always ranks first so I'm gonna say something different for once!) I'm going to say that making time to read this summer has put me in a state of relaxation and in the mood to just enjoy life in a more laid back direction.

My books of choice were the entire Yada Yada series that I totally fell in love with.

Hope your having a great summer too!

My friend Sara, who turned me on to your blog, got me excited about chip board books and that lead to the long overdue scrapping of my kids 1st years...it has become so fun that I'm getting a little neurotic about it. This leads me to one of my favorite summer memories- my 4 year old, Elijah, has autism and in the last year he has blossomed and has not only started talking, but so much so that he has taken to making up his own words. As I sat one night showing him his new chip board book I got a little overexcited and he belts out, "Mom, what are you CRAZYING about?" It may just be awesome becasue I'm his mom, but I will remember that for the rest of my life!!

How sweet of you!!! My favorite memory of summer....A few weeks ago my sister and her 3 kids came over. We had a really quick rainshower. Afterwards, the kids (my sister's 3 and my 2) were out playing in the backyard, jumping on the trampoline and playing wiffle ball. They start hollering at us to come out side to see something "AMAZING". We ran outside and there is a beautiful rainbow stretched across the sky right above their trampoline. Of course, I ran inside and got the camera. It was such a sweet moment for them to stop and see the beauty in life and want to share it with their Mama's. I LOVE summer, and agree that it goes WAY too fast. Have a great rest of this glorious season!

my favorite thing about this summer is that we are "having" a summer. Hanging at home, with each other. Last summer I nearly lost my husband. My children nearly lost their dad. We spent the summer in the hospital.

Thanks for all your happy inspiration ;)

Well I'm on the other side of the world in Australia so it's far from summery here at the moment. But when it was summer here, I loved our family holiday with my husband's 2 sisters and their families and his parents. We rented a house by the beach and all 5 cousins spend some fabulous time with their grandparents while we sat and chatted and watched them being spoilt rotten. Bliss!

Thanks for having a great blog, I love popping in and finding out what's been happening, and getting some much needed mojo!

Well here in Australia it is winter and it has been cold and raining a fair bit lately, which is great because we live on a farm with crops that need a drink! My favourite Summer memory is from January this year when we spent time at a beautiful beach about 3/4hour from our house, with our 4 children, relaxing on the sand, having a picnic tea, the boys playing cricket and all of us having a swim (I hadn't swum in the sea for about 7 years and that was when we were in Europe, with no children yet.) It was a great time and I have loved scrapping the pictures of us at the beach, with is consequently called Farm Beach!!

My fave summer memory just happened last night. i never really liked summer very much…until this year. basically kids make just about everything better. the ordinary becomes extraordinary. they get so excited about almost everything. so if I have to pick just one favorite memory it would be…seeing the amazement on my children’s faces when they were watching the fireworks on the 4th of july. when you have an opportunity to see pure joy on someone’s face it is so magical, that it permanently has a place in your memory and adds a little spring of joy in your heart.

My favorite memory from this summer (actually there are two) is my youngest daughter (age 6) lost her first tooth, actually teeth - she lost two the first time. She was so excited, I know there was concern about going to first grade without losing any. The second was also her and yesterday her brother (age 14) taught her to tie her shoes. She walked around all day with socks on just so she could show everyone who came in her new found skill.

Love your blog! Thanks.

Love those thickers! My fave memory was actually just a casual photo shoot in my front yard of my daughter still in her ballerina costume after her recital. She hammed it up for the camera but my favorite photos are of when I captured her spontaneously spinning around and running and some of the photos are blurry and I don't care. They capture a wonderful day.

One of my favorite memories so far happened while we joined my husband on a business trip. While he was at work one day I took our little girl (almost 1) down to the hotel pool. When we got there some teenagers where playing pool volleyball with a beach ball. She kept on making motions towards the flying ball and trying to say HI to them like she wanted to play too. It was just so cute and it made me wonder what she'll be like when she can actually talk and swim.

Lizzy,

Fabulous goods, as usual.

Lots of new (great) memories this summer. We also have a newborn (7 months) in the house, so everything is new, exciting, and memorable this summer. However, one of the things I will probably be most fond of is that her Daddy, who is a teacher, stayed home with her all summer long, so she didn't have to go to daycare. What a great Daddy! I'm so proud of him, and proud that we just celebrated our 12th anniversary.

Thanks for the opportunity to post for such goodies!

Last year the kids had found a giant ant and we caught it, put it in their bug jar, Bella brought it to school to share, he became our pet for about a week and they fed him a diet of grass and jelly beans. Well, soon enough we had to leave the door open on the jar and tell the kids Ernie "escaped" (wink wink;)because he missed his family and wanted to go back and be with them. Fast forward to this summer and I had totally forgotten about Ernie... The kids were playing out in the yard and they came running up 100 mph, totally out of breath, "Mom, bring the bug jar, we found Ernie!!! He came back to see us!" Oh, how I love the innocence of children... and summer days that create such wonderful memories to relive all winter long!

All my fav's include my 3.5 year old daughter Lucy. She's swimming underwater this summer, yelling "cannon-ball" and doing her version which is a big 'ol belly flop. But the best was a conversation we had.....

"....yes sweetie, we can do that after you've turned 4."
Long....long pause where she is obviously thinking things through. Then...
"But momma, I don't know how to be 4 !!!"

My favorite memory of this summer has been watching as my two year old son has started talking up a storm. His favorite things to talk about are the "big fish" (grunty voice for effect) his daddy catches.

Also all of the memories we've created as we've gone on our "ABC's of Summer" tour. It's been a blast watching our girls search for each letter and come up with ideas for excursions.

I've enjoyed spending time with my son and husband in our pool - a pool that is the perfect size for all of us.

long conversations with my husband in the car as we drive out of town to see family...sounds lame and boring, but these times are precious and few.

The best thing that happened this summer was giving birth to my beautiful son almost 4 weeks ago. Newborns are just the best. Oh, and not being pregnant in this heat is also definitely a plus. :) You are such an adorable mommy!

Wow. I love the stuff from CHA... i hope that i see them soon in the Netherlands.

without a doubt - the before bedtime family swim... when all the weekend neighbors go home and we have the lake to ourselves... the sun is setting and we all do a cannonball off the dock. What a great way to end a weekend and begin another week!

There are lots of great memories from this summer, but I think the best is seeing my newborn niece!

I loved the first day that my daughter started telling me her crazy dreams. She gets so excited to tell me that she can hardly stand still.

Those papers are beautiful, I would love them to showcase my pretty 4- year old redhead.

We just made it! We took our 4 1/2 yr old and our 2 yr old camping. It was a practice run at my parents farm. we stayed up late made a fire, and smores. My son woke up before the rooster and exclaimed, MOM the sun is coming up!

Not much sleep but beautiful memories.

I was so excited about the give away that I forgot my favorite memory... We went to Chattanooga for our vacation. Were at Rock City eating lunch when Katelyn my 3year old picks up my diet Mountain Dew as she is picking it up it falls over and the entire cup (large by the way) lands in my 9 year old daughters lap. The look on her face was priceless (you can picture it, right?) and to hear my 3 year old tell the story to everyone she sees is priceless as well... Very dramatic I must say. Claire (9) was such a trooper walked the entire park soaked in the Dew! Luckily, didn't take too long to dry. Happy, sunny, funny days!

Flying in to celebrate my Daddy-o's 60th birthday. We're so lucky to have him after a close call over a year ago. Loved seeing everyone together after three years not having all of us together (We're a close family but had 2 bros in med school far away). Adored kissing and cuddling with all the new ones I'd never seen before. Forever happy to have seen my Daddy-o driving his tractor with a wagon filled with all the grandkids dressed in matching 4th of July decor in a small town parade. They just don't make memories better than that!

that is a lot of comments so far! My favorite memory this summer was watching my 1 year old son teach his 2 year old cousin that it is ok to put your face in the water! He has no fear, and she is timid. He just stuck his little face in the pool, blew some bubbles and she followed right along. It was great!

My favorite summer memory this year was taking our 3 year old to the kids drive-in movie and a surprise storm came through with large hail and rather than be sad about not seeing the movie (since they ended up cancelling it), she loved sitting in the front seat with us watching the "ice storm" and being in awe of mother nature.

My favorite summer memory this year would just simply be the sunshine and birds singing when I wake up in the morning for work everyday. We had the most brutal winter this year where I live (it seemed to only FINALLY disappear at the end of May) so my definite summer memory would have to be the sweet sunshine flooding in through my windows in the morning, accompanied by the beautiful birds chirping and singing!

My favorite thing this summer:

My 2 1/2 year daughter, Lola, her "Da-dA" and I live on the beach in the Dominican Republic. As soon as the sun comes out, we sneak out of bed and take lovely walks on the beach. I always encourage Lola to pick up little "treasures" to try to encourage her creativity in exploring.

Being in paradise unfortunately prohibits my artistic side with the lack of Michael's Crafts stores, magazines, books, fabric, paper supplies and just about anything else I ever wanted and can no longer buy. As well, I have to continue to motivate my Lola with little to no tools to work with.

However I do design beautiful jewelry and this for some reason is feasible on this floating island we call home. With my treasures from Lola, I made a beautiful charm bracelet, with her assistance of course. Every time I wear my new treasure, it reminds me of our special mom and daughter sunrise walks on the beach this summer.

Hope we win! I have been saving every little scrap, ribbon and memory since Lola was born hoping one day to start our first family scrapbook. I have saved ideas and layouts from everyone over the last couple of years...just waiting for a supply store to open one day. What joy awaits us! :)

Love your blog. I left the USA -i think- before blogs were even around. LOL
CK is one of my favorite newletters keeping me in tune with fellow American my crafters.
