late night sentiment

Collin and I tag-teamed & tucked our little sweeties in for bedtime then turned on the oven and baked our favorite cinnamon rolls. He's devouring his while catching up on Mad Money and I am enjoying mine while I download photos that I took earlier, licking my fingers between bites.
Today was one of those days where I was exhausted and literally do not know how I made it through. Then I think about what so many people are going through across the country and pray for their strength and burdens to be lifted.

But the ironic part is that finally the time is mine to relax my shoulders and eyes and do anything my heart desires, and what am I doing? Staring at my girls on the computer screen. Remembering how much I love that Avery is always hovering over her baby sis. Remembering how Quincey Rose's smile revives me. Remembering how cute Avery is teaching Quincey the different sounds all the animals make & when Quincey cries, saying "It's okay baby! It's okay!" Remembering their innate bond as sisters. Remembering how precious today is for our country and how important it is to enjoy each day. Savoring the simple moments that I spend with my girls that fill my heart & give me strength for tomorrow.

BTW, mmmmm this cinnamon roll is divine!! :P

My 23 month old says the same thing to my 3 month old when she cries. She'll also go over and pat her little head and say "You're ok, you're ok".

There's just nothing like having precious girls!

Oh, how cute:)

By the way, that t-shirt Avery is wearing, is it made out of one of the new AC patterned papers or what? :D

that headband is too cute! One of the hubbies friends just had a baby girl and you better believe I'm going out to get knee-highs on lunch so I can make one tonight! What size knee high did you use?

Aaaww!! With a couple sweet little angels like that, I'm sure your photo-editing "you" time was pretty darn relaxing. :)

Liz, I love your posts like this one that is a true reflection on your life. I loved it when you thought of those struggling around the world. It made me stop and remember that we are all a world of God's children struggling with our own individual trials, trying to make it back to Him. My husband and I struggle with infertility and at times it seems that we are going through the worst thing in the world, and that no one understands or appreciates the sweet children that they (comparitively) so easily brought into the world. But what appears easy to one may be the outrageously difficult trial for the other. The Lord knows what trials we need in order to make us into the people we should be. I love to read your blog because so often your posts make me want to stop, smell the roses, and remember my blessings. Thank you for that. Plus, you make me remember how fun it was to live out west! Have FuN today kissing those beautiful, sweet little girls!

It does seem like some days are harder to get through than others, but in the grand scheme of things I wouldn't have it any other way! BTW, me and my DH tuck our 3 boys in for the night before we have cinnamon rolls too!! If we don't we won't get any! he! he!

Such is the life of a mommy. Have you heard of the song "Sweat Pea" by Amos Lee? I thought of my little girl and this post when I heard it.

We are on such a budget right now, then the reminder of 9/11 comes along and its like, okay, who cares? I can cook Top Ramen seven days a week if we need to. We have a happy healthy family, who needs new jeans, right?

I totally know what you mean! Yesterday night I sneaked in my son's room and watched him sleep peacefully, taking his little hand in mine and listening to his calm breathing. Watching my kids sleep always melt my heart!♥ :-D

BTW I also wanted to thank you for posting a link for Sleepy Wrap on your side bar. This thing looks great!! I ordered one for a baby shower I am going to next week-end, and I also ordered one for me, even though my baby isn't due for another good 4 months! ;-) ...
