a very pink post

My friend Jamie is a Stampin' Up demonstrator slash creative genius who sent me her inaugural
scrapbooking kit, and all I have to say is ah-ah-awesome! I love the colors, the paper, the embellies, the whole thing! I had a total blast putting together this mini-album for my little Q-Bear! The chocolate & pink papers are so versatile & worked perfectly with her photos. I started by cutting some chipboard into 3 1/4"x 8" pieces with a total of 7 pages. I covered each page front and back with the yummy papers.

My favorite part was adding the ruffled ribbon to the edges. Using my sewing machine, I stitched a loose line across the middle of the ribbon, gathered it a bit, then secured it down with some glue dots at the end of 4 of the 7 pages.
The "giggle" text and other cute words are actually stamps from a really cute Stampin' Up set (call Jamie for some help with that;)
Once I finished the pages, I whipped out my trusty Bind-it-All to quickly turn my pages into an album. (Which is now available in pink, but I can't justify having 2... yet!) Oh Bind-it-All...what would I do without you?

I saved all the journaling to the last page where I wrote a letter to my Q-bear.

If you want to make an album like mine or get your hands on all this yummy goodness, check out Jamie's (new) site here!
To start her venture off right, we're giving one of these fabulous kits away! Leave a comment with the Trick-or-Treat candy you would never trade as a kid...or the candy you'll sneak out of your kid's bag...mmmm...Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. I'll choose a winner in a couple days.

PS I've gotten a lot of questions about blurb and how it's not working with blogger... which is so weird because a couple days before I did that blog post I started my book & I use blogger. Hmmm. I wonder what's up with that? I will look into it. :)

you are so talented and a constant inspiration :)

I would never trade m&m's! I was convinced as a kid that you got more chocolate in all those bits, then you did in a little bar.

I'm ready to snag my daughter's Snickers bars. She's older and wiser this year so I'll have to be sneakier.

My favorite candy as a kid (and an adult, who am I fooling) is candy corn! Ooh yummy and you can do tricks with it too! I have taught my 3 kids what I used to do with candy corn as a kid (again who am I fooling, I still do it) You take 2 pieces and yellow side up put them in your lip like vampire teeth and say "I VANT TO SUCK YOUR BLOOD!" It's so funny and harder than it sounds because you are laughing so hard then you drop them so you have to eat those pieces and start all over. That is why a bag of candy corn doesn't last very long around here! LOL! Love you ! Love your blog! And I would love to win this ah-ah awesome kit!

YOu mean we need to pick just one candy we wouldn't give up? Hmmm, I think I'll need to stick with Milky Way. But there are many that are just behind that one.

oooh! It use to be 3 Muskateers, but now I'd have to say I'd be sneakin' the Reeses Peanut Butter Cupts out of my kiddos bag... but since I have two kids now, I'd take the Reeses from one, and a Snickers mini from the other! :)

CLARK bar of course! I sneak them out of the kids'bags as we are trick or treating so they don't see their mom stealing from them! Not that many come out of that bag ....clark bars are kind of from the 1970's I guess!

Let's see, how about all the good candy bars - LOL!!! My favorite are 100,000 grand bars, snickers and almond joys!

Wow, 212 comments already. Nothing but a give-away to get people commenting. :D

I never got to go Trick or Treating as a kid because I grew up in Europe and we didn't have Halloween. I haven't gone Trick or Treating here in Canada either since it would look funny if I went as an adult. So don't you feel sorry for me and want to send me a surprise packet to make up for all those years lost. :D Well, I do get to go this year with my little one. Finally!

Have a great rest of the week,

Since this Friday will be our first Halloween with our little one, I have to admit that I buy candy, not according to what kids will possibly enjoy, but what I will enjoy eating once there are leftovers! Ha! I know it's selfish, but Butterfingers, Reese's, and Snickers are MUST HAVES!

so my personal fav candy is anything pb and chocolate...reese's cups, butter fingers, reese's pieces. I hide these from my husband so he won't eat them! don't tell!

i have another funny story about candy...m&m's. my aunt swears that the red taste different and better. she ALWAYS picks out EVERY SINGLE red one from the candy jar and save them for herself. her candy dish is void of any red. she says christmas is the best because she buys the red and green bags of them and gets to eat all the red m&m's she wants! crazy...and hilarious at the same time.

I know I will be dating myself here, but oh well. On Halloween night, my sister and I would dump our stash of candy on the living room floor. Our mom would then confiscate all the packages of candy cigarettes (yes, they used to make those). One year I happened to sneak a pack out before my mom noticed. My sister and I went into our toy room and felt so sophisticated puffing away on our "cigarettes". We never did get caught, but we told our mom about it years later and had a good laugh!

My favorite candy was Sugar Daddy's, which was a hard carmel sucker. Once I got too impatient trying to eat the thing and pulled out one of my fillings. Yikes! The free candy ended up costing a trip to the dentist.

Happy Halloween memories!

Wow! This book it totally awesome, I just really love the chipboard and the ribbon you sewed on and OH! The coool stamp... I now sneak every Twix bar I can from my son's bag! But, as a kid, I kept all the Bit-O-honey & reeses pb cups to myself.
Love your blog!

REESE'S BABY! Love me some peanut butter and chocloate! YUMMY!
I always gave up all the snickers to my Dad.. that was his guilty pleasure! Besides, if you didn't voluntarily give them up, he stole them anyway! :)

Oh...and I feel the same way about my Bind-It-All! And shortly after I got it I was putting it on my blog and linking to the site and I was on there finding out that it now comes in PINK!!! I didn't admit to anyone that I'd love to have it in that color just after I'd gotten it in the blue. But now that YOU'VE said it out loud...well that makes it alright! He he! Just don't tell my hubby! ;D

Trick or Treat!!! We are so ready for Friday already! I have been addicted to the whole chocolate & peanut butter combo since I was a little one. Now my 6-year old is addicted to reese's pb cups too (I have to hide them in one of my top cupboards!). I walked into the kitchen & caught him STANDING on the counter the other day helping himself to my secret stash and the evidence was all over the living room carpet!!!

Note-2-self: Find new hiding place! :)

I never gave away the Milky Ways. I tricked my poor sister to think that the candies wrapped in the orange and black paper (what are those anyway?) were way better than Milky Ways. Poor thing.

That is such a cute book, I can't wait to try it out!!! I used to steal the Butterfingers from my friends bags while trick or treating! Gotta love Butterfingers!

What a darling book!!

And without a doubt, ANY kind of candy bar without nuts! Yeah, it's broad but that's how my tastebuds work! ;)

Mine is for sure Reese PB Cups, but the mini ones, not the big ones. I could eat a whole bagful of the mini ones, but the normal size ones just don't do it for me! Awesome kit also!

My favorite were the Tootsie Rolls! I love all the different sizes, but those big, chunky ones were my favorite. The album is beautiful! I love Stampin Up. I have their date stamps and they are a great investment for scrapbookers. I'll check out her site!
