a very pink post

My friend Jamie is a Stampin' Up demonstrator slash creative genius who sent me her inaugural
scrapbooking kit, and all I have to say is ah-ah-awesome! I love the colors, the paper, the embellies, the whole thing! I had a total blast putting together this mini-album for my little Q-Bear! The chocolate & pink papers are so versatile & worked perfectly with her photos. I started by cutting some chipboard into 3 1/4"x 8" pieces with a total of 7 pages. I covered each page front and back with the yummy papers.

My favorite part was adding the ruffled ribbon to the edges. Using my sewing machine, I stitched a loose line across the middle of the ribbon, gathered it a bit, then secured it down with some glue dots at the end of 4 of the 7 pages.
The "giggle" text and other cute words are actually stamps from a really cute Stampin' Up set (call Jamie for some help with that;)
Once I finished the pages, I whipped out my trusty Bind-it-All to quickly turn my pages into an album. (Which is now available in pink, but I can't justify having 2... yet!) Oh Bind-it-All...what would I do without you?

I saved all the journaling to the last page where I wrote a letter to my Q-bear.

If you want to make an album like mine or get your hands on all this yummy goodness, check out Jamie's (new) site here!
To start her venture off right, we're giving one of these fabulous kits away! Leave a comment with the Trick-or-Treat candy you would never trade as a kid...or the candy you'll sneak out of your kid's bag...mmmm...Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. I'll choose a winner in a couple days.

PS I've gotten a lot of questions about blurb and how it's not working with blogger... which is so weird because a couple days before I did that blog post I started my book & I use blogger. Hmmm. I wonder what's up with that? I will look into it. :)

Funny story...

In an effort to encourage oral and physical health, the orthodontist I work for has a "Candy Buy Back" promotion we do every year after Halloween. Patients can bring in their halloween loot and we pay them $1 for every pound of candy. It's a huge success every year! The candy is then donated to the Blood Bank of Alaska (they give donors something sweet to eat to restore their blood sugar levels after their blood is drawn!) BUT, before the loads of candy are carted off to the worthy cause, my co-workers and I raid the stash for our favorites. I usually go for the Nerds or Butterfingers... or both :)

Adorable mini-album for an adorable baby! My fave halloween candy seems to only be available during halloween so I have to stock up. It is the Mary Jane peanut butter filled peanut butter taffy. It kills my jaw after about two or three but they are so good I can't stop eating them!

I rarely gave up any of my chocolate candy...snickers, rolos, twix...mmmm, chocolate is a girl's best friend! :) Thanks Elizabeth!

The one thing I would never trade as a kid were these deliciously huge, brilliant red, delectable, juicy homemade candy apples. There was one lady in our neighbourhood who made them, and they were coveted. It breaks my heart that in today's world, homemade treats like this aren't safe.

So I guess, I will be sneaking twix and reese peanut butter cups out of my kids bags!

I love Reese PB cups, especially the white chocolate ones, and Hershey's Miniatures Special Dark. Those are always the last to go in the miniatures mix of flavors, so it works for me!!

One of my most favorite is Kit Kats!!!
That album is so cute. I bought some wires for the Bind-it-all, and just used my Crop-o-dile to make holes instead and it worked out pretty well...I'll share a pic on my blog tomorrow, when I finish!

Martha said...

And Twix...can you tell I love chocolate stuff?

Anne said...

I sneak out Snickers! Always have, and always will! :) Although the mini-sized Plah Doh is extra fun as well!

Thanks! :)

Gorgeous mini book! The colors are so pretty. I especially love the ribbon ruffles!
As for candy, as a kid I would never trade M&M's. Currently, I snitch the Twix candy bars, although the last few years my kids just handed them right to me :)

I am commenting for my totally awesome sis in law who inspires me every day. she is having baby girl #2 and is not quite sure what she is going to do with all of the pink in her life. I think some chocolate would do the trick!

I would never give up the cheap pink gum...i know it looses flavor in like 2 seconds, but i love it! (and it only tastes good on Halloween)

My fab sis in law does not give up Frooities. Esp the Grape ones.

I always try to sneak the milky ways away from my girls and luckily enough, my twin 1 year olds can't eat any of it so I can have them all!!! Insert evil laugh here!!

Oh, your album is beautiful! She'll LOVE that.
Blurb doesn't use Xanga either, which is where I have TWO years of blogs before I switched to Blogger. That's a LOT of copying/pasting, but I may do it anyway just to have one of those awesome books!
Hmm....trick-or-treat candy that I'd NEVER give up? Pretty much anything chocolate! Snickers, Milky Way, Milk Duds, Nestle Crunch...I'd trade anything else for one of those! :)

Heather M. said...

that is such a cute album!

chips (unless they were sour cream and onion).

Kit Kats! The "fun-size" were always the two bars (vs. the longer full sized four bars) and man, oh man, I remember those were the first ones I pick out and if I had to, will trade 5 chocolate bars for one Kit Kat. Yup, I had a Kit Kat addiction.

That would have to be Necco wafers(except the pink Pepto-Bismol flavored ones) and tootsie roll pops- cause how else would I know how many licks it takes to get to the center??? Happy Halloween!

It's sure been awhile since I have left a comment!!

Totally stealing ALL the chocolate from my girl's bag... haha. BUT I just can't ever get enough of REESES PB CUPS too!!! Mmmm. And with the combo of a seriously chilled glass of milk - it's perfection!

What a super cute mini book, but what else would I expect from you? :)

Snickers would have to have been my favorite.
