It's about time...

for a killer giveaway!

I'm a big fan of the camera straps *made with love* by the fabulous Shealynn & sold at the *Shey*[B] etsy shop. They make me happy because
a. they come in a bunch of different stylish patterns
b. they slide on and off so it's easy to interchange them
c. they are super cozy around your neck :)

Right now my Canon is hanging from the black and white damask pattern with a pink yo yo flower! Oh, I almost forgot to mention how much I love the yo yo flowers, she layers them and attaches them to your strap with a button. I couldn't help but get a few more of those that I will easily find a home for on one of my next projects. Her 'Summer Fun' strap was also calling my name since I am eagerly waiting for some sunshine.

Leave a comment with one of your New Years Resolutions (it's okay if you've already given up on them:) & you can choose your favorite camera strap from the Shey B etsy shop!!

My Grandmother died on the 20th of December and losing people really reminds you how important family and friends are. My resolution is to be closer to those who love me and those I love. Answer every phone call, send b-day cards, and royally spoil nieces and nephews and all that good stuff. That's really what it's all about, right?

I don't really make 'resolutions' but I always set goals for myself & the new year brings about a refreshed feeling to everything so I go for it. This year a few of my things are to keep making healthy choices with regards to food & exercising 5 Xs a week. So far so good. I'm trying to keep my blog updated regularly, learn to speak Spanish fluently, put my LOM system into place, and get my house more organized & decluttered. Good thing I have all year. Oh, and to review my goals each month to remind myself what I set in place as well as see the progress I've made.

I need my goals to be short term in order to achieve anything! so, i set myself 12 goals-one for each month of the year. i already met this month's goal...applying for my master's degree.

i think it's an easy way to make 12 resolutions and complete it-in a short time period so you don't forget why you assigned yourself the goal!

we'll see if it works!

With a new baby on the way my goal for the new year is to simplify. Simplify in all areas. Scrapbooking-simplify my layouts, document more everyday life than just big events and finally finish an album; housework-do what needs to be done at the moment; my expectations- know that I don't have to be super woman to be a good mom, and that I will make mistakes but as long as I give all my love things will turn out fine in the end.

It's all about simplifying!!!

Unknown said...

My resolution is to use my scrapbooking supplies other than to just scrapbook. I'm planning to make more cards and home decor items. I actually just recently made a birthday card and used the idea on Feb. CK on how to decorate those big fat binder clips and make them look oh so cute and turn it into a photo holder! I past out the ones I made yesteday to my family. It included a family photo we took on Christmas and they loved it! I'm really liking my resolution so far.

My goal this year is to become more fearless. I have fears that keep my up at night and hold me back in life; I fear simple things that are easy for people... like simply discussing my upcoming wedding with my parents and ideas I have - I fear that if I speak them out loud they won't become real and then I will be letdown... I just need to step and become less fearless because then at least I know, and then at least I will have the hope that I can be satisfied and happy.

I went a step further with my resolutions/goals this year. I took pictures of the things that represented my resolutions like the picture of my feet on my bathroom scale and my rowing machine and my cluttered scrapbook table, a picture of a blank wall where I want to add bookcases this year, etc. I've taken the pictures and prefaced my Project 365 with them, writing my resolution on each picture that it represents. But my biggest resolve this year is to be grateful for all that I have and for each day and what comes with each day. I spent a better part of last year unemployed and I know that I have a much better understanding of how much I really have, from material goods to great family, great friends and a great God who has helped me get to this place in my life with so much more wisdom and understanding.

Wow. I have a lot :-) To name a few:

1. Go skydiving
2. Buy a gorgeous wedding dress
3. Get a 4.0 at least ONE semester this year
4. Be more social and stop being such a hermit
5. Volunteer at my local hospital
6. Find new, fun recipes to cook and stop eating naughty take-out (almost impossible when you're a college student like me)
7. Reconnect with old friends
8. Take time out to read for fun (also nearly impossible for college students)

...okay, overwhelming, I know. And sorry to drag on. But with Obama becoming our new president tomorrow and 2009 being a pretty big year for me, I figure, why not aim big? Go big or go home!!

My resolutions are to get published in creating keepsakes this year, continue jogging with my boyfriend. Oh and to do good in my college classes beacuase it is my last semester! : )

My resolution is the same every year - not to make new year's resolutions that I can't keep. So far I'm batting a thousand! :)

One resolution, three words: "Get.Er.Done." No procrastinating, no piles, just "get 'er done"!

I want to PLAY more... play with my babies, my camera and my art.

My new year's resolution is to take a picture a day - like your project 365. Hopefully I'll get more familiar with my camera's settings!

My resolution is to learn how to properly use my Canon. I have already taken 2 classes this month and my pictures are getting better... I can't wait to see what my Project 365 looks like by the end of the year. I would love this strap to remind me to continue to learn and grow!

I have so many, but aside from wanting to lose weight, etc, I want to take MORE photos :)

Anonymous said...

My main goal for the year is to learn how to use Photoshop! I bought it last year, but never did much with it. I have already gotten a good start since the new year began! :)

To lose weight and be totally healthy (mind, body, soul, spirit... the whole nine)... for real this time. I wanna be "so fine in '09"!

I didn't really make a resolution, but I want to have more fun and not be so serious all the time. Since I am doing Project 365 I have my camera everywhere, and I am already noticing more joy in the everyday as I choose what moment to record.

I'm doing project 365 this year. So far, I've taken at least 1 photo every day.

I'm trying to be a better mom to my kids by trying to remember to think about what I want to say to them before I just react to whatever they are doing.

I'm trying to remember to be thankful for all of the blessings I have each and every day.

To journal more. I take tons of pictures and and scrapbook a little note here or there. But this year I want to be intentional about journaling my thoughts, feelings, hopes, dreams, and prayers.

Brilliant idea for a camera strap! That is so cool. Thanks for sharing.

My New Years Intention is to keep up with the good habits I started last year...exercise, eating right, reading/studying scripture.

My husband is applying, and in the 2nd round of interviewing for a big promotion. If he gets the job I will also be asking for a more non-traditional work schedule or possibly leaving a position I have held for 9 years. I need more Mommy time!

I want to take some classes to learn to edit photos! I know this will be awesome.

My resolution is to MAKE time to be creative... to really nourish that part of me... being a SAHM for 4+ years has taken its toll and finding a creative outlet is good for my soul (as well as my kids!!) ... I love the Autumn Wallpaper strap the most (although its REALLY hard to choose just one!)

One of my resolutions for this year is to sew more. I made a quilt for my daughter for Christmas and realized how much I really enjoy it - so this year I am going to do more of it this year. I love the black and white camera strap - and I really have wanted one of these cute straps for a long time so I would love to win.

My big resolution for this year is to just get it together! LOL! We went from having 2 boys 10 & 7 to having a 3rd boy a year ago Wednesday. He is the greatest little thing, but man, going back to diapers, strollers, baby gates and all that fun stuff has exhausted me. What a joy they are all, but mommy feels like she goes in a million different directions.
One day at a time...

One of my goals is not to call my husband names! He knows I'm teasing-but others have thought I was being rude about him, and I would never want anyone to ever think I thought less of him than I do.
I really am in NEED of a fun strap-so pick me ok? :)

My most important resolution this year is to make my girls' days memorable. They just turned 3 and 1 and I want them to remember a me as a mom who tries to make their lives fun, not just stick them in front of SpongeBob all the time. If I can stick to that resolution, all the others won't matter much.

Oh, those are some seriously lovely straps. My resolution is to send a birthday card to everyone on my calendar. Considering our family only has one in January, I did pretty good! (My neice even called my husband to thank him for the card. Adorable.)

Susy said...

What a great giveaway, love those straps!
One of my new year's resolution was to help cut costs in our home so I started researching the world of coupons and have saved soo much money in just a few weeks!! I wish I would have thought of this before!

Anonymous said...

My goal is to exercise regularly, meaning 3-4 times per week. Thanks for the chance to win!

Donna said...

One of my several New Year's Resolutions (all of which I am still going strong on) is to spend less money. See how winning this giveaway would help me keep that resolution? I wouldn't have to actually go buy one myself!

Does a goal count? I don't usually do resolutions, but my goal for this year is to run a half marathon, OR complete a sprint triathlon. Doing all right so far...
