the one with the fabric banner

**Update by Collin** Liz won't tell people but she'll be on Studio 5 Friday morning on KSL-5! Check her out!

After I hung up the banner (the one I showed a peek of) Collin said it looked like a used car lot... Ha! Well, these kiddos aren't for sale. :)

First, I made my own template from cardstock, pinned it to fabric then cut each triangle using pinking shears & cut some random sized circles. Next, I sewed it all together with ric rac making loops at each end for easy hanging.
I also printed a few photos on 'adhesive-backed linen' from Close To My Heart on my inkjet printer which worked perfect to stick photos right onto the fabric. (This printable canvas sounds like it would work great!)

She's dieing to make her room a mess-I can see it in her eyes! ;)

love it! my little ones have that same barn and love to play with it. they make huge messes in their room too. if only i could teach them to play with one thing at a time and put it away when done. too easy huh.

Really cute idea but I'm wondering about your daughters shirt. Did you sew sleeves onto a tank top or did you buy it that way? I was thinking maybe I could do that to a few of my girls shirts but not sure how to go about it. Anyway cute top.

I absolutley love this! I made a paper one for my daughters birthday, it was so much fun! I'm not sure if I could make a fabric one but I might just challenge myself.

The Girls are so cute!

I can't sew and wish I knew how to make stuff, but thought I'd tell you about something you might like...it's at pottery barn kids called "Hanging Dress Garland" and it's very cute...you could make one (me on the other hand would have to order it)....anyhoo...check it out here:

The banner is fab!

The brightly painted walls are fab!

The photos are fab!

And I've said it before, but I love that you put flowers in your girls' hair. I think every girl should wear flowers in their hair sometimes. Love it.

OOHH! IT would be so easy to make one of these with Stampin' Up!'s Pennant Die for the Big Shot! You can cut several layers of fabric at a time!
Great inspo as always!

That is such a cute banner! It would only work at a car lot that sold pink Power Wheels.

I LOVE their room! And I love the rug and the banner looks great! My 2 1/2 year old daughter loves that barn too. She loves taking every single toy out of her closet and off of her shelf for mommy to pick up. :)
You did a great job!

Your girl's room is so cute! I love it! I had to tell you, I was reading your blog and my daughter walked in. She said "Hey, we have the same shirt" and sure enough she is wearing the same shirt your little one is wearing in the pictures you posted! We both got the biggest kick out of that...same shirt, same day! :) Thanks for sharing the pictures with us!

I was just telling my friend today I wanted to make some penants for my daughter's room to fill her blank wall. I bought fancy Gingher scissors awhile back to motivate me. I already have the fun fabrics in my quilt fabric stash. You motivated me even more!

LOVE the rug!

Elizabeth, you have the cutest ideas! This turned out so adorable! Can you please tell me how you do all this scrapbooking stuff 'n more wih two little ones? I've got two little ones and I'm lucky if I have time for food storage organization at the END of the day after keeping them busy with activities all day :)

Hi Elizabeth. I love the banner! It is so cute. It makes me wish my two kids were little again! I also wanted to comment on a post you wrote on Monday, March 16th. The one titled "Achoo". You wrote a little something about change, and it reminded me of what my mom always tells me, because I too have a hard time with change. She says, "To change is to grow, and to change often is to grow perfect." By the way, I Love your blog! It's always so fun to read. Thank you for all your inspiration! Barb :)

i love the room!! i'm gathering little bits and things for my 3 year old daughter's soon-to-be room. oh, and i love avery's little clip. where can i get one?

I recently saw the fabric banner idea used for a birthday banner. You do a new photo and triangle for each year(put the age under the photo), and on the back you write your child's favorites on that particular birthday. So the banner grows every year. I've got all the supplies collected, now just need to find the time to make two of them for my two boys. You could also use a triangle for each letter of "Happy Birthday" spaced between each year's photo.
I really look forward to seeing your blog and always enjoy the creativeness of it! -Kerri

Wonderful! I am a bit of a fabric addict so have plenty to do this. Is the backside of the triangle the back side of the fabric or did you sew two together?

Awe it came out so cute...it looks more like a circus or carnival than a car lot! I was thinking of doing these as well...but I cheated and bought the Tinkering Ink ones on Peachy Cheap.

Oh and by the way THANKS A LOT for getting me hooked on Peachy Cheap!!! I love how I can get really cool stuff my lil' town will never see, at a super cool price!!

Really "THANKS" :P.

Hi, love this banner & am looking to make one for the name of my business at my craft table (above the table or one the wall behind my table) for an upcoming show. Any good ideas? I like the fabric idea, but then how would I get a letter on each one? Or is it better to use paper? Looking for a simple yet super cute banner. My business is Kelly Hanson Handmade. http://www.etsy.com/shop/kellyjhanson

Any ideas you have or links you could share, would be SO, SO, So appreciated. Love your blog!!

Thank you!

Kelly
