This photo literally makes my heart sing! With full tummies and grateful hearts on Thanksgiving we went outside to get some fresh air before diving into Collin's apple pie a la mode... (the best it's ever been! inside joke.) Quincey loved when Auntie Em tossed the leaves in the air then laughed as they tickled her when they fell to the ground.
Yes, the food was delicious, the pie was tasty & my sister decorated the kid table so adorable but the leftovers I love the most are memories like this. Because that little nose & giggle are pure bliss. (Hey, did that just rhyme? Awesome. Makes it even more cheesy. ;)

Sleeping in my own bed!!
After almost two weeks of being away from home to visit family over the holiday, I am so happy to be in my own bed. I love my family dearly and so enjoyed the time we were able to spend together.
I didn't really enjoy the pull out couch or having my (almost) 4 year old son grind his teeth in my ear each night. Seriously. Not even ear plugs helped! lol
It was all worth it though since I got to spend a ton of time wit my mom and hug my dad for what very well may be the last time.

My kids LOVE Thanksgiving - they were so funny during the month of November - everytime they saw Christmas lights or decorations they would scream, "Give Thanksgiving a Chance!!" Now that Thanksgiving is over we can officially turn on the Christmas music! It makes me happy that my kids LOVE Thanksgiving even though there are no packages to open!

You'll probably think I'm completely crazy, but what made me happy this Thanksgiving was that my father died. No, I am not crazy. My mother died nearly three years ago and he's just been absolutely miserable, sad and lonely with no will to live ever since. Yes, it's very bittersweet for me, but trust me when I say that his death actually made me happy. He's with his bride once again and now both of them are happy. Of course I will miss him dearly, as I still do my mother, but my heart sings that they are reunited. It's a celebration!

On Thanksgiving my parents and grand parents drove 4 hours to eat my first Thanksgiving dinner I prepared all by myself. My dad and grandpa had never been to our farm and I had thought my mom and grandma were the only ones coming...I love a good surprise! I jumped up and down like a little girl and giggled and cried. I was very happy!
The thing that makes my heart sing is sitting down with my 2 girls to help them make their letters to Santa. It gets more fun each year to see their handwriting and pictures and I love to see how they spell the words of what they want. It is so cute to see them work so hard on it.

Taking pictures of other families and seeing the joy the experience once receiving them... that makes me happy. A hobby that gives back.

My aunt surprised me on Thanksgiving with my grandma's long lost recipe box that everyone thought had been thrown out. I felt like I was carrying around cargo as precious as a bag of diamonds when taking that box home...seeing my grandma's hand writing, other relatives' writing and other random notes in that box makes me soooo happy.

On the way to school this morning we saw an inflatable snowman lawn ornament. My little girl screamed so loud when she saw it, I thought something had happened to her. But it was all over the snowman. The simple joys of children. Had to smile.
