mini paparazzi

865 is the number of photos Avery has taken on my phone the last few days. It all started our first morning back from Disneyland, the girls were playing and laughing & Avery looked up at me asking where my camera was? "Go get your camera mom."
She was so confused because I had my camera on me the whole trip, and wondered why I was missing this great picture-worthy moment. I pulled out my phone and took a picture. Since then she's been going nutso taking tons of photos. Usually I don't even let my kids breathe on my phone so I am now on the search for her own camera.
She really did a good job capturing our days. My favorite that I almost peed my pants laughing at... okay, I didn't pee my pants... but I thought it was so funny that she took a picture of Collin blessing the food. ha! She's a sneaky, little paparazzi.
Yesterday she took this one of me photographing a mini album I made for Club CK. Here's a behind the scenes shot of my high tech photo studio... on the front porch.
I'll let you know once the whole album goes live. Here's a peek for now.
Mini album: Punky Sprouts
Chipboard pieces: material girl
Cutest butterfly punch in the world: Martha Stewart
Ruffle ribbon: Dear Lizzy

Very cute! Both my girls love to take pictures! (They are 8 and 6) For Christmas Santa brought them both a camera, not just any camera.....a real, adult camera! I priced them out(wink, wink), and they were about $120-$170. Unfotunately my youngest dropped hers and broke it, but the 8 year still has hers! She loves it! Those little tikes, and fisher price cameras I think are a waste of time, but if you could find a nice camera and find a protector for it, that is the way to go!

Good luck!

Cute! My daughters do the same thing with my camera! It's always fun to see through their eyes. So funny. You should print out some of 'their' photos and make an adorable, special layout just for them. Thanks for sharing!

Oh my gosh I love it. I purchased Madi a camera for Christmas. It wasn't that expensive (as she is VERY clumsy like her mama and I was afraid she would drop it....she did on the first day). But there are quite a few options for her that take pictures and you can upload to your computer to print out.

She is quite the photographer!!!!

Those are some awesome pics.

You need one of those kid-friendly digital cameras with the foam around them. You can allegedly drop them and they won't break.

I have to hide my phone from my daughter or she will fill up the memory with random pics. I drew the line when she took a picture of someone (me) on the toilet.

cute! Those pics would look cool through the shakeit app too. Its a free faux-loroid (poloroid) app. Have you seen it? I think you would like it. Love your blog. Even Avery's photos have a deliciosness to them!

Cute cute cute! My little Rubes keep picking up some mini binoculars she found that she completely doesn't understand are not a camera and saying 'smile mummy' which is also cute but doesn't have the same effect - i.e. no photos as above!

So cute, Fiona, does the same here. Love the view of Fiona's world!! I got her the Fisher Price kid tough one and I like it. It eats batteries though and since my daughter was about 2.5 when she first got it, it was a little hard for her to press the small button on the front... My girlfriend got her daughter the vtech one and the cool plus to that one is that it also does video and has games on it..(I have even seen it on clearance at walmart for $20 - but that was a little while ago)

My daugher's favorite favorite favorite toy is the play camera we got her. She LOVES taking pictures (but can't be trusted with a real camera because she is 2). My son (5) has graduated to a real camera. The kids go on picture-taking exibitions around the house. It's hilarious what they take pictures of that I wouldn't.

U! Get her the lego camera! It will be so cute if you do... pretty soon she'll be photographing your scrapbooks!

My granddaughter has loved taking pictures since she was about 2. I love how they take pictures of their feet and everyone else's tummies or bums because that's what's at their eye level! So cute!

I don't know about all the cameras you're looking at...my girls (ages 5 & 3) have the Kid-Tough Camera in pink of course (I have to say is still perfect after they accidentally drop it, but I don't like the images when I download the photos to the "Caitie Cam" folder on our PC) & they have the Disney Princesses Pix Click (my favorite because it's still perfect after they drop it and the images are great...of course it's not perfect...it's a kid camera...but they love it...I love the image AND images they take throughout the day). Sorry, rambling. I don't know what is cuter...your mini album or the fantastic photo of you with your Canon taking the mini album photos!?!?! I'm slowly, but surely getting the hang of mine & loving every shutter, click, & second of it! Thanks again! Yeah, I have a girl crush on you! Sorry, P.S. Long-Story Short...Adorable photos through the eyes of your child. I love downloading my kids' pics. Is that white poster board that you are using in your photo studio to take the mini album pic on? If it is, OH that is too cute! I love it...awesome! Sorry for the long comment. Have a great weekend!

That is so sweet. I gave my then 3 year old my old point and shoot when he showed an interest. It is so wonderful to see pictures from their perspective.

The one of Collin blessing the food is for sure the best one, how funny that she thought of that. My daughter loves to take pictures too, mostly of her stuff, then she makes pages about them. It will be funny for her to look back on when she's older.

too cute and so funny- i was just looking at my iphone last night and my 4yo son took 93 pics yesterday. hilarious what they see through their little eyes... and my two year old likes to make the clicking noise that the phone makes when she pretends to take pics. HOW do they know how to work the iphone so easily????

the album looks amazing!

Wonderful post! I had a similar experience when I was going through our Christmas dinner pictures. I was looking forward to seeing the shots I took and refreshing my memory bank and then all of a sudden there was a collection of three pictures. Different angles of my aunt with her hands folded and eyes closed. We have no idea how one of the little ones was able to sneak off during prayer, swipe my camera and take a bunch of shots! Oh well, it gave for some good conversation at Easter!

I am loving the high tech studio on the porch! Glad I'm not the only one who cheats like that.

Tell Avery to take more photos of you behind the scenes. We want to know all your crafting secrets!

love love the way kids see their world through the camera, seeing what is important to them...santa bought cameras for our older girls chirstmas 2007 (so they were 5 and nearly 4 at the time)...they were bottom of the range kodak and they still work just fine now. we taught them to make sure they always put their wrist strap on. from what I have seen of the kiddie cameras the picture quality isn't so good which can be a little disappointing if you want to use the photos iykwim? my 3yo son is the master photographer...he's been using his big sisters' cameras for well over a year now...love it! huge congratulations on #3 :) Tatum xx

Just wanted to let you know I bought my son the Discovery Kids $80 camera (luckily I only paid 25 on black friday) and actually returned it in Jan. I was really bad, the pictures were blurry, off centered and dark. My 4 yo loved taking pics wiht it, but wasn't worth not even getting one good picture in the end.
