Happy 4th!

Love these photos by Kelly Trontell
Hi! Hope you are enjoying the 4th of July weekend. Since the 4th conveniently landed on a Sunday this year, it has turned into a 3-day celebration with lots of festivities tomorrow. Including the traditional parade.

Grateful for our freedom of this country & for those who fight to keep us safe.
An inspirational thought I included in our church newsletter I put together each month:
"You cannot be saved by valor and devotion of your ancestors. To each generation comes its patriotic duty, and upon willingness to sacrifice and endure, as those before you have sacrificed and endured, rests the national hope." Thomas Paine

Today I was completely teared up singing the National Anthem at church. When I was pregnant with Avery I remember the same wave of emotion when Bucky Covington got kicked off American Idol--but this morning clearly had much more meaning. ;)
Happy Independence Day!!

I cried when Adam Lambert didn't win, and I wasn't even pregnant, Idol can do that to you. Hope your long weekend is great!! By the way, got the Paper Palooza issue of CK, great layouts in there Liz!

I know this sounds weird, but Anoop Desai had me rooting for him last year thanks to Beat It (Thanks, MJ!) and I couldn't help but get a little teary when he was booted off the show. Anyway, have you picked a name? Me and my husband chose Heidi Evelyn. (He wants Heidi Addison, but I think I have him convinced Evelyn is the way to go). You must must must tell us the name ASAYP! (As Soon As You Pick) Good luck!

Funny, I'm not pregnant and I welled up when we sang it at church on Sunday, also. Glad you had a great holiday!

Personally, I am hoping Collin gets another spot on the local news 4th of July parade footage showing us all how to fold open the lawn chair! Awesome stuff!!

So, I have a huge favor to ask, even though you don't know me... Is there any way that you can email me a copy of your newsletter? I do our Ward's too, and I'm in a slump...I need some ideas to make it a little better. I like to look at as many as I can from other Wards. I don't like putting out a semi-okay newsletter! ;)
If you can email a copy, I'd love you forever and be ever thankful! If not, that's okay too...
Thanks, Emily
