Real Men Wear Spandex

Collin swam a mile, biked 26 miles then ran his heart out for 6.2 miles this past weekend officially becoming a "Spudman!" That's right baby!

After blood, sweat and tears Collin crossed the finish line. Okay, no tears were shed, except maybe on my end. I was SO proud of him!! He didn't even look tired! His group left 20 minutes after the start, so his total time was 2 hours 41 minutes!

Collin's dad is the one who motivated him to train & compete in triathlons. Yes, you're reading this correct, that's not David Hasselhoff from the Baywatch years, that's my 53 year-old father-in-law! He kicked some serious butt!

Scroll down and turn off the tunes (I couldn't figure out how to turn off auto-play) :) then watch Collin cross the finish line & give his emmy speech, as Kristina called it!! I was taking pictures while I videotaped so don't laugh at the recording skills. And yes, I didn't stay behind the orange mesh fence and security had to kick me out! It's all for the cause, right? :)

where did collin get those heinous-majoris sunglasses? i must destroy those as soon as possible.

FYI-- my dad has absolutely no connection with UK or even Kentucky for that matter. There must have been a buy one get one deal at Lids.

That will always be a great memory, standing with Bethany and Liz, snuggling Q and supervising A, watching you, then your Dad, cross that finish line~ both of you looking like you hardly broke a sweat!

For a guy who
had never before run 6 miles in a row,
never biked 25 miles all in one sitting,
and who is only a little sore today,
I am throwing kudos and kisses your way, Mr. Wing it By the Seat of My Pants!

Love you and so proud of you--all you are and all you do--Your ever lovin' Momma!
