I woke up with a plan... to check off all the procrastinated Christmas to-dos on my list but mother nature had something else in store. Lots of fluffy white stuff! There is no way that we are going out in this!
Which was really fun until the flour was more interesting than the cookie cutters & cookie dough. Now the kitchen is as white as outside! :)

Please say I'm not the only one with a list of things to do! :)
Here's the recipe:

1/2 t soda
3 eggs
1 c butter
1 t vanilla
1 t salt
Large t baking powder
2 c sugar
4 3/4 c flour

Roll out cookie dough with rolling pin then use cookie cutters.
Bake at 375 for 8 min

You are SO not the only one with a list (mine's a mile long)! :) My 3-year-old, Ava, and I baked sugar cookies the other day - it looked much like the scenario at your house! So fun and sweet!
What do you do to your photos? They always look so beautiful!
And no, you're not the only one who's left things undone til now...too bad it had to snow all over the state!
I am such a procrastinator, that my list is a mile long. But I look at this way I do better with deadlines...We got the ice instead of snow, so pretty iced in since Thursday night, now we are going to get your snow in IL tomorrow..but it gives me a chance to get caught up around here (or make a dent) ...Merry Christmas to you and your family!
You are not the only one with a list! I have so many thing to do still...
I think everyone has a ton to do, but it;s so wonderful that a mist fo it all you can have some fun with Avery. She looks like she had a blast!
Have a happy holiday!
you are not alone...it's not for procratinating...well, i am trying to convince myself of that one...ha! it's just there is lots to do and life always HAS to get done first...enjoy the snowy day!!!
It looks like you had a great time with Avery. I made gingerbread cookies for the first time last week with the boys. It was really fun. I still need for us to make some sugar cookies for Santa. I am actually getting ready to head out to cross some more off of my mile long to-do list. Merry Christmas!
I'm jealous of the great natural lighting you have in your dining room! Sweet pics, and yummy cookies!
I've got a big list too. I'm also snowed in like you. But I have to say, hanging out with my kiddos and staying cozy helps me forget how much I'm not getting done out and about today. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
My husband loves the song that plays when your blog is opened! He's a music buff. It's a lovely song.
Snowed in here today too. I don't have anyone to make cookies with so you are lucky. My little cuties grew up and left me. I was going to spend the day with my little granddaughter but mother nature had other plans. Oh well, better safe than sorry. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
your pictures are always so beutiful...just wanted to know what kind of camera you have and what you shoot in? thanks enjoy your day!! Nicole
here's the thing... i have a list, about 898 inches long, and i don't even celebrate xmas! no idea what i was so busy with! LOL..
I have been LOOKING for the sour cream version of the sugar cookie receipe FOREVER.
I use to make them in (ahem) college years ago. They are the best. Keeps it from crumbling alot.
Guess I know what I am doing today. I even bought sour cream for some off chance of finding the receipe this year.
FATE!
Thanks.
These are the most precious pictures! I'm in love. I'm heading over to check out your Sleepy Wraps now :-) Merry Christmas, Nina
I still have Christmas shopping to do tonight and we are supposed to get freezing rain and ice accummulation. Yikes! I love the last picture of Avery. Dirty, flour-y kitchens mean fun times and great memories. I think it's wonderful that you let your girls "live" and get a little messy. Merry Christmas!!
Looks yummy. Just a couple questions for you though. Does the Large t mean Large teaspoon? All the t's are teaspoons too right? Thanks again! My little man wants to make them too. :)
