these two
::Uncle Russ and Aunt Em::
super cool
ahead of their time
master movie quoters
Emily had this idea for a picture and finally on a whim, with the last 5 minutes of daylight, we took it then turned it into a Christmas card. I had to post it because it turned out so cute and because I love these two!
Then a couple days later they were our little elves and played with Q&A & helped wrap presents. We compensated them with a couple yummy cinnamon rolls and watched Christmas with the Kranks. One of those stressful movies where everything that could possibly go wrong-does! aye yi yi!

love their christmas photo!..i really need to come up with some new ideas for '09....
i really LOVE your hair!...
That is such a fun Christmas card! And lucky you to have someone to hang with the little ones for mere gooey pastries! :-)
They are seriously to cute :)
They are a darling couple.
Hi there again! I wonder where you take all these photos with the awesome backgrounds? The black brick, the barn?, etc. Are you just lucky enough to live near all these fantastic back drops? Also, can you find out the font used on your sister-in-law's Christmas card? Very cute. I need to plan ahead for next year. This year with three boys under 5 years old (one a new baby) plus my 5 year old's birthday is 2 week before Christmas, time really got away from me and everything was so hectic. I'm going to start working on things right after Halloween! Thanks in advance for the font.
Jennifer
i used the font 'fling'
i think i downloaded it from fonts.com
&
i took the pic on the side of our house.
the barn is down the street & the black brick is near my sister's home. if you live in utah i can give you directions.
thanks for the comment! :)
Super cute photo! And thanks for the font tip. Fonts... yummy. ;)
Love the pics. Would you be willing to share your photoshop technique for the indoor photo? Do you just mess around with photoshop or is there a specific place you are learning all of it?
I just found the Valentine mailboxes at Target that you did last year...what can I say, you inspired me as usual.
Bradley and Calvin also have great Uncles and aunties :)
I love their Christmas card! what a cute idea. They both look like fun people to have around.
Thanks Elizabeth. I just checked it out and it costs $29. I'll have to wait until my scrapbooking budget allows for it. I usually download from www.dafont.com which is free. If you haven't used it before, it's really easy and I love it. Lots to chose from. I live in Ohio, so I'll have to keep my eye out for great backdrops around home. THANKS!!! PS - I was shopping at Ann Taylor this weekend and saw a shirt that was very "elizabeth kartchner" and had to buy it for myself. I just love your style....sorry if that's weird. :) Happy Monday!
Cute photo! Thanks for sharing. I love having my sisters (without children, yet) over to read to the kids. They love it too. I see "Merry Christmas Curious George." That was a great one!
My 8 year old was looking over my shoulder when I was reading your blog and said “Is that Jack Black?"
Love that card! On New Years, 2004 I was in Times Square and there were all these Japanese tourists and they were so fun, but seriously there were two of the girls sharing a scarf for warmth - your card totally make me remember that and crack up. I have a pic somewhere, got to scrap that!!!
How do you get the colorwash effect on your photos? Is it an acid wash action? I have a color fade on my Iphoto but it is not as cool.
Their Christmas card photo is adorable!
Karen~
Your brother-in-law looks like Jack Black...thinner, though.
Love, Love your photoshop skills with this picture.
Tips welcome - I know many would love to hear about how.
Your daughters are very lucky to have so many wonderful people in their life!
