tickling the ivories

Collin made the whole gift giving a lot easier this Father's Day, and I mean easy as in-he bought his own present. It happened as follows:
He spotted this piano on the side of the road at a garage sale on his way to work
He called me ecstatic about his 'perfect condition find' so he bought it
He then tried to move it with Russ up the 99 steps to our house (okay, that's an exaggeration)
We asked our husky neighbor to help us
Ta-dah!! It is now safely in our home.
This piano definitely brings a magical feeling to our home. One Friday night, after a long day, I fell asleep with the windows open and a cool breeze while he serenaded me... like I said, magical.
Plus, he learns my favorite songs: Adele 'Hometown Glory' & Coldplay 'Death And All His Friends' <=love that one!! Sometimes he makes me sing along... haha it's hilarious! Have you ever tried to sing like Adele? There's a reason she made a CD & not me. I will stick with cutting paper & glue and only singing in the shower or in the car!
Do you remember the SOY announcement and although I was a tearful mess I said I wanted to buy Collin a piano... it finally happened. :)
PS you may still enter the giveaway below, I'll announce the winner... soon.

OMG how lucky was he to find such a wonderful 'find'.
I can remember as a child family gatherings and all standing around the piano singing our lungs out.
Wish I had that piano now *sigh*.

That is beautiful.... something magical is right about a man playing a piano serenading to you!

How awesome it is that he can play and serenade you! What a wonderful, magical way to fall asleep. Romantic too! Good stuff.

He is not legit until you get him a Liberaci sequinned suit. Knowing you, you could probably whip one up while the grils are napping...

It's ok that I stop washing dishes to take pictures of my reflection in a pan lid just for kicks.

there is truly nothing like the sound of piano keys dancing. Both our boys play. They can bring me to tears when they play my favorites.

I love the white... hmmm is it alright to PAINT a piano?

Hi Liz,

I know you're a Coldplay fan. I thought I'd share this with you. It's an elementary NYC public school chorus. These kids rock and are super adorable. This is their acoustic version of "Viva la Vida." Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_tcE4rWovI

All the best,
ana

Love the picture - in our family the roles are reversed...my husband spends hours listening to me play on the piano, and shares the sames things that you have. As an aside - I don't know if you are planning on leaving the piano there, but outside walls are really not good for pianos; they are much happier against inside walls. (sorry if you already know this, but being a musician means I notice these things!!) Happy listening!

I am so not sure if I already entered for this giveaway or not. Love the album but wouldn't be picky.
