old & new

Recently I was looking through some of my old scrapbooks and I remember this page I did for my Scrapbooker of the year portfolio. Look at my widdle Avery! I love this page even though it's somewhat old. I love when pages transcend time, when they're not so much trendy & trite but timeless. Not saying that this page necessarily is, cause in a couple years I might die when I look at this, but I think Ali does a great job at that. It's nothing I necessarily worry about because creating is more of a game & excitement to me. Someday I will be grateful for my writing and the photos and will overlook anything that might bug me. Or at least that is my hope. :)
The number stamps, ribbon tape & letters in the word 'Flies' are from Martha Stewart.
Foam hearts & felt flowers are from American Crafts.
The wings & 'Time' are by Heidi Swapp.

Now for some fun news I will be doing an Online class!! It's been in the works for a while now. Boxes of supplies are now arriving to my home & I thought, hey, it looks like I'm really doing this. There will be more details to come on Monday so stay tuned!
Also, we announced our teachers over at the Spark site so check it out...

I left my heart and a shoe in Texas!

My first visit to Texas was such a fun trip! Everyone there was so friendly and happy-and who wouldn't be happy at a convention all about scrapbooking!! Every morning when I woke up I was so tired and I wished I loved Starbucks, like my friend Noel, just to wake me up a little. But all it took was the excitement of walking towards the doors of the convention center filled with crazed crafters like me! And let me tell you it was quite the trek. But like I heard, everything's bigger in Texas!

Good Morning Houston!!

The CKU booth and scrapping a make and take with my friends from ScrappyArts.net :)

My new friend Catherine and her friends, watch out for their awesome rap on my video.

Hanging out with Taylor after one of my classes and the first sighting of my belly bump:) I am slouching over so it's still a little hidden.

The best part was meeting so many awesome people. Like Kara!! Ana from Technique Tuesday, Ruth, and all of the CKC staff, getting to know Emily Magleby, the fabulous Stacy Croninger, and my roomie Lain Ehmann.

The CK staff puts so much into these conventions and it definitely was appreciated by all who was there!

PS Thanks to Collin for being so supportive and playing Mr. Mom while I was gone! And thanks for all your sweet congrats about our exciting news on my last post. It was SO fun reading them.

photos and memories

Still in shock and have to keep reminding myself that everything really happened. I really met 9 talented ladies that are now my friends, I really spent some time with amazing celebs from Creating Keepsakes...Lisa, Britney, Brian, Ali, Becky, Meagan, CD, and Paula. I really was featured at the CK booth where I met some super cool ladies, and cried when the first girls asked me to sign a mag (scared for those pics to surface:) I really chatted at dinner with Ali and CD!! I really left all my makeup in the hotel room...dang it!!

What did we do to celebrate? After we found out, Collin and I carried all the flowers and other goodies up to our room and decided since we didn't have Avery with us that we should do something fun. So I threw on my lucky polka dot shirt and walked all the way from Venetian to New York New York, rode the roller coaster and walked all the way back. One quick stop to buy some tylenol...man that was a bumpy ride!

That night felt like Christmas Eve; I think I slept with a smile glued to my face!
Looking at these pictures brings back so many emotions-I am filled with so much gratitude and excitement!!
*Come back Wednesday afternoon for some giveaways*
...what else would I do with all this free product:)

Dream Come True!!

I can't believe this is happening!! I won Creating Keepsakes Scrapbooker of the Year! I found out last night at a banquet. As soon as they said my name I jumped out of my chair and screamed then hugged Collin and started crying! I couldn't go up to the front without hugging the other finalists who I have become so close to the past couple days. They are all so sweet and talented! I could hardly walk but somehow I made it to the stage-still crying and shaking:) I feel so incredibly blessed and so excited to get to share my passion with others! Thank you Creating Keepsakes and everyone who supported me-especially Collin:)! I couldn't have done it with out him. Pictures to follow... come to our house Friday, we're gonna party like it's 1999!
