Thankful Journal: New Something Splendid Workshop

Hi Splendid Ladies!

I am so excited to announce our newest online workshop at Something Splendid. It will be a perfect way to celebrate November up until the Thanksgiving holiday. This Thankful Journal has room for 10 photos to showcase the blessings in your life, as well as room to share why those things are important to you.
Collin Kartchner Studios, yes I am very official with this introduction... made this awesome video to inspire you to join us. It's filled with subliminal messages. ;)

To read more about the lessons schedule & a breakdown of what we will be making click here at our Something Splendid site.
Our site always includes video tutorials and clear instructions with photos. Some of my favorite things we will be learning are:
-ombre paint technique for the Maya Road canvas pages,
-flower technique
-felt bow tutorial
-simple stamping additions.

Each kit will include Tim Holtz Crackle paint, adorable Lawn Fawn Stamps, Crate paper and stickers, American Crafts rub-ons, paper and metal flowers. There are also a mix of handpicked accessories and trims including burlap, doily and even a feather (it's faux, don't tell PETA :) Read more about the basic supplies needed on our Splendid site & sign up.

Curiosity

Would you take a minute and take this survey! It's just a handful of questions... because I'm curious. And you know that saying, Curiosity killed the cat. Which doesn't even make sense. I mean, has a cat ever died of being curious? Is that a painful death? ;)
Sorry, bad joke. Okay... just take this survey pretty please with a cherry on top! xo

how to spell summer: l-a-z-y

Summer has been busy going here and there but most of my favorite memories are just lazing around at home! We plan on doing that lots this weekend.

Laughing at Collin's toe nail polish left over from our Lake Powell trip. More evidence of what an awesome daddy he is to let his girls paint his nails. ahaha

We started our Something Splendid felt cupcakes class on Wednesday. I guess I shouldn't be surprised when Collin films and edits the video and includes out takes and embarrassing moments from filming. He does an awesome job making it fun!

Here's one of my favorite videos that he filmed during a family photo session. There's something about videos that really captures everyones personality and creates emotion. Many of Collin's clients are out of state so if you are in Utah or if you live further away you need one of these priceless videos of your family! !!
Since Lola can sit up (and crawl and pull herself up onto things to stand) I am off to book my session now too. Here's his email: Collin@MakeSomethingSplendid.com
You can thank me later. ;)

Something Splendid Felt Cupcake Class is Now Open!

So thrilled to launch our next online workshop for Something Splendid, these adorable Felt Cupcakes!
My daughters ripped open a present from their Aunt Charity a few months ago including some felt cupcakes. They are perfect for their tea parties and their play kitchen. Needless to say, they love them! Since then I've had so much fun making more and experimenting with yummy felt frostings. I thought this would make a fun class! There are 4 different cupcakes you will learn how to sew, and as always, the kit will include everything you need to make them at home. Including a pattern, felt, embroidery thread, needle, HD video tutorials. Also, it's a great gift idea or summer craft project.

The class is now available for purchase on Something Splendid, you can order it here! Supplies are limited to order quickly, class begins July 20th! Get all the information on what's included in the class here.

corsage flowers

We shipped out the rest of the Corsage Flower kits today for our Something Splendid site! Right now we are teaching the Envelope Book class. And besides the fact that Collin included all of my embarrassing out takes from the video tutorials it is going... splendid!

Photos styled and modeled by Rosie// Jefra Starr Linn photographer

The Something Splendid packaging turned out cute for this workshop. The fabric comes in a sack and there's a small bag with pearls, rope belt or pins depending on how you want to wear your flowers. The glassine bag is closed with a needle to make your flowers with. Doesn't the logo look cute stamped on the bags? This workshop starts next week.

a new day

This is a fun post to type because it's about something that I've had in the works for a long time. The website was done around the time Lola was born but seeing that she is way more adorable then a website it was put on the back burner.
You might remember this monday, that is when everything came together for this project like sweet peach pie thanks to Jefra Starr Linn who did the photography & Rosie Jarman who did styling. Both are amazing! Collin came to blow up balloons and hold our little Lola and then he made this video with footage just playing around-because he pretty much rivals Superman.

A new day... I think Thursday sounds like a good day to launch my new website. Check back on April 14th at around 9 am central time.

You might even watch it twice because this song's contagiously cheerful melody! (Le Fantasy.) Thanks for reading this blog and your support.

my monday

This is how I spent my Monday.
In the raddest white-washed building with Jefra, Rosie, Collin & Lola. Blowing up enough 3 foot balloons to carry you away. Nearly peeing our pants every time one of those balloons popped. Listening to music on Rosie's too-cool-for-school radio. Eating Wendy's on the ground. Walking up and down stairs in 4" heels that my legs were sore the next day... the real Shape Ups. Dodging box-elder bugs. Playing dress-up and eating chocolate frosties.

I'll share more details of our little photoshoot soon. It should be fun.

Yesterday was also a great day because I am thrilled for everyone who wants to be involved with making a memory book for a special person. A big thank you for those of you who nominated someone. If everything goes as planned I hope someday to make a book for every single person. For now, let's start with two books.
If you want to scrapbook a page or two for these scrapbooks please email me at dearlizzyblog@gmail.com
Also, does anyone have an idea of what to name this project?
Thanks!
