Create

Hello bloggies,
I feel so inspired today:
the sun is out (yay!), the weekend was uplifting, the kiddos are playing happily (for the time being),
the music is up, the house is clean (for the time being). Ah, heavenly...

One of my favorite things about this blog is connecting with women all over world who share the same desire to create.
It actually inspired me to design a scrapbook page about it. Possibly the first page where I ignored the urgency to document a memory with specific photos but rather quotes from this talk I shared last year that I love.

(Page inspired by Robyn Werlich) Supply list: American Crafts (yellow dot, scalloped edge); Scenic Route (red dot); KI Memories: Epoxy Stickers; Background paper; font: little days (dafont.com); Butterfly punch: Martha Stewart. Love this color scheme: Tan, red, yellow, seafoam green.

The talk was also made into a short video, I've watched it countless times since my sister shared it with me a couple weeks ago. Love this message...

(Pause the music in the sidebar-sorry to make you work for the video.) ☺

Wow! I was at our stake center when that talk was given and felt so inspired, so encouraged by the spirit. You have such a unique opportunity to share this message with so many women around the world who admire you, just like I do. Thanks for sharing.

I LOVED that talk, too. If you get the chance check out the talk "we are creators". I did an entire RS retreat on that one. I'd like to do another with quotes from both of things.

We are the clay in the potter's hands and we're potters of our own!
Thanks for reminding me of that talk.

I love President Uchtdorf! He is such an amazing, inspiring man. That talk is definitely one of my favorites and still gives me chills everytime I hear it. What a cool idea to create a layout based on it.

Are you a Studio Calico person now?
I noticed the link on your list of links. I would LOVE to see what you do with a SC kit. I think they are awesome. Now if I could scraplift you using SC kit stuff that would just be amazing!

It's so funny you blogged about creating today because I was just thinking this morning how I want to create, craft, sew, just make something every day. I just can't find the time! We are all creative, like you said. It's just finding the time to do so. Sad, I know. I actually think this darn computer sucks my creativity away...or at least sucks the time away.

Love this talk too. Makes me feel like what I do (scrapbooking, I mean) is a worthwhile hobby and I am really doing a great thing! My father-in-law always says that 'this will be the most well documented generation', and it's true. And I love that. Thanks for all your inspiration. Love your layouts.

Elizabeth-

I love your blog and go to it often as a source for inspiration to create. I don't usually comment but I had to tell you are admired and I'm so impressed with you sharing this message. You reach and inspire so many and this video was just what we need to be reminded of. These silly projects we do are not only fun, but they keep us sane because it lets us develop our innate gifts and talents. Thanks for the inspiration.
Lots of love,
Ashleigh
p.s. It also made me feel less guilty for spending half my day making bakerella's cake pops! Ha!

Hi Liz,

So I randomly stumbled on your blog and WOW!!! So inspiring!!! I'm not specifically a scrapbooker but love crafts and creating of all sorts (this was one of my fave talks too!) When my husband came home I told him I think I found the person I aspire to be (which kinda freaked him out! ha!) I LOVE LOVE LOVE your style (bright colors, fun, layers, your own twist) and I LOVE the music on your blog (I usually turn off any music on other peoples blogs because I want to listen to my own - selfish huh!) Judging on what's on your blog I think you'll like the album Raising Sand by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss... have you heard it? Also, my grandma is a Kartchner - Joyce, from mainly Arizona... Kartchner Caverns and all - just had to play the "do you know" game! Thanks for sharing your creativity!

Love the layout - reminds me why I love to create too. (Your blog is very inspiring - gorgeous photos, but also the journaling gives me ideas of what to write too) Quick technical question: how did you print on the 12x12 sheet?

I stumbled on your many months ago and am now a secret stalker (I love being hit with your gorgeous bright creations and photos everyday)!! You are fabulous in so many ways. I can feel your love for life, the gospel, family, being you and your crafts through everything you post on here. What a special gift that is, to yourself and others. Also stumbled on yours and Collin's photography blog the other day and am very jealous that I live on the other side of the world (Australia) and will never get a funky family protrait done! Fancy a trip to Australia???!!! hehehe
Thanks. Bev.
