going green

I wanted to do something last week in honor of Earth week but was super duper busy-better late than never right? (Did I say super duper?-too much Barney for me;) I don't bleed green or anything but I do love the chance to be crafty & friendly to Mother Earth at the same time. So, I bought some reusable grocery sacks and got crafty by sewing this recycle sign onto one. I am actually happily surprised with how much I like these bags. For 1 they hold a lot more than I thought and 2 they don't rip when I am carrying them up the stairs and trying to coax Avery inside at the same time. Hmmm. How does that work with two kids? :) I guess I will find out soon enough!!

so you think you can dance

I would give my right leg to dance like my sis-in-law Bethany. But then again I don't know how great I would be with one leg. It was so fun watching her dance last night at her last concert before she graduates from high school. I can't believe she's all grown up! Love you Aunt Be-Be!!

Learn something new everyday

Avery learned a lot of things during her daddy daughter time...ice cream tastes better before dinner, life is much more enjoyable with a ba-ba in one hand and chi-chi (paci) in the other, you can't leave the store with out buying a new toy-like a big, pink, stuffed hippo, folding laundry is a great way to make mommy happy, cheer for the baseball team wearing pin stripes & heckle the opposing team in red, matching your clothes is overrated, shoes are optional, singing is good for the soul, always dip your PB&J in milk before each bite, and this great skill...

CKC aka: Cool Krazy Croppers

1 word for you-Sunshine! Actually 2 words-Sunshine & Palm Trees! Ooops that's 4. But you get the point-it was beautiful in Arizona!!

I taught some fun classes on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It was so fun getting to know some of the ladies (and gentleman) after class! And of course to take pictures-what do you expect we are scrapbookers!!

Lain, my totally cool roomie!! I think we fell asleep mid conversation one night. Do you love her apron?! Looks like that may be the inspiration for my next project!
And then there's these two! The fabulous Maggie Holmes and hilarious Loni Stevens! It was fun getting to know them in the short time I was there! And since Loni only lives minutes away we better get together soon!
One of my favorite parts of my trip was meeting fellow bloggers at the show! Thanks for saying "hi!"
Thanks to my stone cold hottie (see previous post for visual aids) and Gigi for taking care of Avery while I was gone! Avery is missing daddy so much today-& so am I! :)

...and I hit a base-clearing go-ahead double just for you.

HURRY HOME BABE!!! THE OFFICE STARTS IN 16 MINUTES!!!

Where I BeLOnG

Did you catch my secret message in the title? hehe! A couple friends asked to see the birds above my desk, well, here you go! They're vinyl rubons for your walls from Blik. The same place where we got our chandelier from this post.
This is where I spend countless hours a day and night.
Some of you have already received your May issue of CK. I have 2 fun articles that month that I'm very excited about! One was for CK's new column "How We Create." In it you will see the other very colorful half of this room-my scrap desk, lots of goodies and read about my creative process. It was a lot of fun to write so check it out!!

Both of my desks are from Ikea. I love my computer desk because the legs are used as shelves so you can store things in them. I scrap on their corner desk with an added extension. It was a fabulous day for my office when Ikea opened in Utah-not for my checkbook though;)! Just make sure you have patience with their instructions to put stuff together!

Poppy pages

Just wanted to share some pages using the Poppy Ink kit of the month. Love the vintage flash card since pretty soon our family will grow to have 4 of us! I used pics you've seen on the blog and wrote about some of the things that make me happy at the moment.
How cute and big does Avery look in the top photo?! Every time I look at it I am amazed at how fast she's growing. I was even more amazed when she came marching out of her room yesterday when she was supposed to be napping! How the heck did she get out of her crib? Actually I'm not surprised since she pulls herself onto everything. All I know is my whole world just changed!

Where is Spring?

I can't believe it's snowing!! My poor daffodils!

I guess I should be grateful for this weather otherwise I wouldn't have wanted to be inside working on my weekend project and new hobby.

My sister found out that she is also having a little girl so we decided to each make a quilt. I'm now officially obsessed with quilting. Mostly because the 'Ginger Blossom' line of fabric is so stinkin' cute!! Collin went to a conference for our church Saturday night so Avery and I watched 'Enchanted' and I sewed all the squares and borders together.

Do you love the baby bump? I wish Collin would have been home to take a picture when Avery had to sit on my lap as I sewed. It was a tight squeeze! :)

Since this is my first quilt I kept it simple with 4.5" squares and a top and bottom border. I'm excited to finish the rest-or I guess pay someone to do the embroidery design. :)

a birdie and a bribe

Modeling this weeks fashion is our
darling Avery.
Remember those bird templates from Easter? I decided I wasn't finished with them yet. With a little fabric, pins, and thread-voila! Actually sewing it together was the easy part. The hard part was getting her to sit still long enough to snap a picture. But break out some fruit snacks and she was all smiles. You'd think all this excitement would be about her stylin' shirt. Nope. She is drooling and waving her arms for the cherry flavored gummy princess in my hand.

Wanted to put in on a white shirt but let's be realistic.:)

ilove my ipod

Avery loves playing with my ipod and once she figured out it played music and wasn't just to chew on she loved it even more! It even makes a great pretend phone to chat on! I wanted to do a page about our favorite music at the moment and Lisa Bearnson's kit this month worked perfectly. It's full of envelopes and pockets that are great for lists, hidden journaling, extra photos and memorabilia. I also love all the colors it comes in! I have lots of fun plans for the rest of the it.
Speaking of music ...any other American Idol fans out there? My vote goes to Cheesy David, Rocker David, and Michael. The guys are rockin' it this year!
